Royal Hawaiian Hotel Reviews

The Royal Hawaiian Hotel is also known as the “Pink Palace” or the “Pink Lady.” The Royal Hawaiian Hotel was built in 1927 and recently completed a total renovation which left it in better condition than originally constructed. Located directly in the center of Waikiki, this hotel offers class and elegance from another era, yet updated with amenities and the comfort expected in a contemporary resort hotel.

With two pools, a fantastic fine dining restaurant and a casual restaurant, a full Spa and fitness center, you really don’t have to leave the resort. Yet the Royal Hawaiian is surrounded by shopping, restaurants and adjacent to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center across the street from the International Marketplace.

529 Rooms, 5 floors, 3 Restaurants, 2 Pools, Jacuzzi, 2 Lounges, Fitness Center, Shopping.

"We checked into the Royal Hawaiian early in the afternoon after a very busy, long day of flying, 4am wake-up and a 7 hour flight. We just freshened up a little and unpacked our suitcases and made for the Mai Tai Bar for a much needed drink! After a drink and some dinner. We went back to your room by this time we were exhausted and ready to call it a night, warm showers were needed all around. By this time our bodies were calling for bed, it was midnight by our bodies standards. By husband went first for his shower and got prepared to crawl into bed, SCCREECH..he put the brakes on..Uhhh something was wrong here..pulled back the covers and the bed was all wrinkled there was blood spots on the sheets, hair on the pillow cases!! This was so not happening!! The bed had never been changed from the previous guests!! I was behind tired and NOT in the mood to deal with this, but being that we were here for 6 nights. I called down to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager at once. I spoke to Danny who was more then kind and sent up Evelyn and Carolyn who changed the whole bed from top to bottom, not only the sheets, but the duvet cover, mattress cover, the works! They were SOO super nice to us, brought us robes and slippers, since we were in the middle of showers. Made sure we had roll down service the rest of the time we were there and asked “What time we wanted it” I know that they went above and behind the rest of the time that we were there to make sure that our room was well “Stocked” and that we were “well taken care of” Denny or Danny (cant remember the name) was wonderful as well..the guest services manager, he was super nice and called the next morning to see if there was anything he could do to make it up to us. But after that little event with the bed, we had the best room in the hotel! Everything was WELL taken care of! The room was always clean, always well stocked with supplies, towels were always taken care of, we had nightly turn down service when we came back from dinner or a evening out. Water on our night stands, along with a story telling of the hotel and a Chocolate lots of Chocolates!

The staff was WONDERFUL through out the hotel, they could not get any better, from the restaurant staff, the cleaning staff, the staff in the stores, the housekeeping staff, the bartenders, the front desk staff, the bell boys, the beach boys services! I was so impressed with them all they for sure have the Aloha attitude!! The pool was wonderful, very nice to sit beside. I got to enjoy one afternoon sitting beside it when my husband wanted to stay in and relax. It was very enjoyable. They need to have some kind of different service for the chairs on the beach though, we were there 6 days and no matter how early you got down there you could not get one, we were down there at 8:30 one day and watched several chairs that never got touched all day, they had towels on them but no one ever sat, laid in them. Very disappointing to the ones who would have liked to have had a chair. But it was Hawaii, we settled for the nice, incredibly, warm beach! We really did enjoy the beach and just laying on it. Overall I would rate this hotel a 5+ we will for sure be back!! Every hotel has some kind of small problem that has been over looked, SO not anyone’s fault, things happen. We had a dream vacation. It was purely wonderful! Who can complain when your in Hawaii on the beach!" – Shari from Edmond, Oklahoma
