Stayed at a White Thorn Lodge Nudist Resort?
"I was surprised at the easy directions, access and registration process. The well maintained grounds were immaculate, pool area was 5-Star, with convenient bathroom & hot shower facilities. Excellent hiking & biking trails, the snack bar was near the pool and ice was available near the rental cabins. The pool area also had a large hot tub with auto assist chair to the pool and tub. Loads of loungers, umbrella tables & chairs and a covered area adjacent to the pool. In every way it was clean, fresh and a very comfortable facility to spend a day, week, weekend or the Summer, lol!" – Walt from Pennsylvania
"Our Stay at White Thorn Lodge – Darlington, PA — White Thorn Lodge located in Darlington, PA, is a Member Owned Family Nudist Club since 1981. The resort is probably most notorious for it’s annual Nude Volleyball Superbowl. It offers membership, camping both primitive and RV and also has 4 rental cabins available for guests by reservation. An outdoor heated pool along with 2 hot tubs are onsite. A modest clubhouse is in place and a snack stand / food service operated under varied hours provides a limited menu with reasonable prices and average quality.
Recently, July 27, 2018 thru July 29, 2018 my wife and I took our 3rd visit to this location, arriving on Friday July 27, 2018 mid-afternoon. We had reserved a cabin on this trip, as we had in the past. The cabins are set up as duplexes so to speak, in units of 2 side by side. While they are spacious, they do not offer any type of refrigerator, microwave or air conditioning. Also, shower and bathroom facilities are not present and located in a shared facility. There also are no grills provided, so you really need to plan ahead for meals, especially because of the rural location and proximity to supermarkets and restaurants.
We spent our Friday afternoon enjoying the pool and sun and had a quiet dinner that we had picked up, en-route, in a nearby town approximately 15 mins away.
Saturday was a beautiful day and we were looking forward to the tribute to Woodstock by listening to the live music dubbed “White Thorn Stock”. We spent the majority of our time at the pool and strolling around the campground.
Late in the afternoon while at the pool, we noticed a guest sitting directly across from us and he had a cell phone pointed directly at us. As we watched him, it was plain to see his finger and thumb moving on the screen as if to enlarge an image and then tapping as if to select or take a picture. Since photographs are strictly prohibited and for that matter cell phones in common areas forbidden by guests, we approached management with our concerns.
Management was reluctant and refused to secure the phone and investigate the photos and opted to take the word of the gentleman that he 1st had taken no photos, nor even had his cell phone in the common area, but that he had deleted any pics he had taken? Ultimately he left with his phone and we were left to wonder how many pics of us were leaving with him?
It was a regrettable situation for us because we did enjoy the convenience of being relatively close to the facility and met quite a few nice folks. However, we can’t accept the fact that we can be photographed with little to no assurance that anything will be done to protect our privacy. We will not be back, but for those that don’t mind the chance of being photographed it is definitely a decent deal and a nice facility for the price." – R & S from Pennsylvania
