Solair Recreation League Resort Reviews

Solair Recreation League is a family-oriented nudist resort and campground where people of all ages can relax and discover the freedom of recreation without clothing. Located on 360 secluded acres in Woodstock, Connecticut and approximately 120 miles from New York City and 90 miles from Boston.

Solair has been continuously owned and run by its members since 1934. Solair is an inclusive community of people from all walks of life and of all shapes and sizes. Solair is a member of American Association for Nude Recreation which advocates wholesome nudist family values. In Solair’s safe and wholesome environment, you too can relax – without judgment or fears about safety.

Nudism is a healthy way of life – and Solair offers a safe, appropriate place to be clothing-free with like-minded people. Your appearance just doesn’t matter. Whatever your body shape and size, when you come to Solair you’ll discover that self-acceptance is easy!

Research shows that families who are open and comfortable with nudism raise tend to children who are also confident, at ease with themselves, and more accepting of differences.

The atmosphere of Solair is wholesome and friendly. People who enjoy nude recreation distinguish between nudity and sex and keep the two in their proper perspectives. Solair is careful about who enters the facility — and if anyone seems to be there for the wrong reason, they will be asked to leave.

Activities often include sports and events much like any resort. You’ll enjoy swimming, walking, tennis, pickleball, hiking, volleyball, parties and socials, special dinner events, and the opportunity to make friends with a wide variety of people, diverse in age, profession, and culture.

The Naked Turtle Cafe is located on the lower level of the Community Center near the tennis courts. Solair’s café offers an outdoor covered area, an open upstairs deck, and inside seating. Look for a fresh menu and daily specials. Major credit cards and cash are accepted.

Campsites are available at seasonal rates for the period April 15 through October 31. Solair offers twenty (20) sites for trailers and RVs up to forty feet. All have water and electric hook-ups and are located in Pioneer Valley near the tennis courts. There is a dumping station within Solair. There are 14 tent platform sites located near the waterfall & brook area, in Pioneer Valley (near tennis courts) and in the Fox Hollow wooded area. You must show proof of insurance for all electric or gas powered recreational vehicles. Associate Membership is required.

"I visited for the first time last month and was greeted with a very friendly receptionist and an even friendlier tour guide. It is mandatory to get a tour before you go for the first time, even for experienced people like myself. I never felt like an outsider, like some of the others I’ve visited. I felt welcomed from the start. The place is kept up nice with lots of different things to do. I would highly recommend a visit!"

"My husband and I first visited Solair in Sept 2011, for the Octoberfest! It was our first c/o experience and it was A+! The event was on Saturday complete with a German band and a delicious German meal. That experience lead us to continue to visit Solair as weekenders with our (then) travel trailer. The activities are great — awesome bands, DJs, games and so on. The facilities are super — the pool, pond with boats and kayaks, shuffleboard, volleyball, pickleball and a wonderful cafe that makes fantastic meals (weekends only). Fast forward to 2016 — we loved it so much we bought a place. Now we own our own piece of paradise in Woodstock CT." – TW from Connecticut

"I’ve been to many nudist resorts over the years, and Solair is by far the finest one in the northeast. It’s owned and operated by its members, not some company or proprietorship. This means everyone there really cares about the place, its condition, and about welcoming new people. It also means there will never be a sudden change to a clothing resort, as the members will simply never let that happen. This means you can put down roots there for good, long term nudist living." – David from Massachusetts

"I cannot think of a better place to enjoy the freedom of being clothing-free than Solair. My husband and I came here for our first nudist experience in 2005 and have been members every since. We’ve visited other resorts and Solair tops them all. The facilities are great, and — most important — the community is friendly and welcoming. And unlike many other resorts, it is family-friendly, with tons of weekend activities for people of all ages." – Nancy from Connecticut
