Rock Lodge Nudist Club Review
Rock Lodge is 145 acres of nudist paradise situated in the Highlands of New Jersey only 40 miles from Manhattan. At over 1,000 feet above sea level Rock Lodge Nudists enjoy hot summers in the cool mountain air. The heart and centerpiece of The Lodge is a spring fed lake which provides swimming, sunning areas, fishing and small boat sailing.
In 1907, A.L.A. Himmelwright, a New York engineer built “The Stone House” which was the first fireproof home erected in the country. This magnificent structure is still used by our members. During the Roaring Twenties the property was a training camp for Jack Dempsey and other boxers. In 1932 it was established as a nudist club. Today, members enjoy the grounds playing tennis, volleyball, swimming, boating, and just plain lounging. Hiking and biking opportunities abound. The Highlands Trail is a step out the gate.
During the spring and summer there are talent shows, lake activities, dancing, barbecues, bring-a-dish parties, arts and craft shows, bonfires and readings where active members enjoy themselves day and night from May through October. For several years, our annual classical music concerts have featured talented professional and amateur musicians, both members and guests. The instrumental and vocal pieces have represented a range of musical genres from baroque to opera to Scott Joplin. Join us as we gather around our magnificent concert grand!
Most Sunday’s at precisely 3:00pm, the words “Coffee Klatch!” reverberate across the Lake and echo from the hills. Rock Lodge has evolved many traditions over its 80+ year history, but none are as old or beloved as the Sunday Afternoon Coffee Klatch. Each Klatch, different members provide a sumptuous spread of munchies and deserts on the Bungalow patio. While Klatch is not a competitive sport, some members can’t resist going all out in their presentations and culinary prowess.
Visitors and guests are free to use the club’s food storage and cooking facilities (kitchen and gas barbeque grills). We recommend that you bring your own refreshments, for we do not operate a restaurant or snack bar.
Rock Lodge Club welcomes visitors, who are allowed 4 visits per season before application for membership is required. Our close proximity to nearby New York City (and to the Philadelphia area) make it an ideal place to stay when visiting the area.
While Rock Lodge is very much a family club, represented by several generations, we also welcome single men and women.
