"Showed up to the resort after making a reservation. They told me the board had changed the rules. Only 3 visits only per guest. They explained this was my last visit. I could come along with someone who had not visited as their partner, but they would only be able to visit 3 times. Not a lot of people there that weekend. Usually keep to myself unless invited to participate in some activity. Never rude, never a gawker, just a really good place to get away from it all with the convenience of a decent cabin to rent.
 
Kind of bummed me out how this was handled. I would think the added revenue would be appealing. Guess not. I had planned 2 or 3 more weekend getaways that have now disappeared. If they had chose to amend the rules next year and given forewarning it would have seemed more appropriate. I was so bummed I didn’t leave the cabin or deck, and split after several hours instead of staying the night. "Paradise on the Prairie! Kansas is fortunate to have two AANR-affiliated nudist parks, both of them accessible and welcoming. Sandy Lane Club, near Hutchinson in central Kansas, is the smaller and more primitive of the two. Prairie Haven nudist park, 23 miles south of Topeka, near the town of Scranton, is much larger and more developed. Prairie Haven draws most of its clientele from northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri, including the Kansas City area, although some members and visitors come from much farther away. My wife and I have been to Prairie Haven many times over the last several years and have always found it to be clean, comfortable and fun. The park’s tree-covered grounds are beautiful, with plenty of shade but also lots of sunshiny areas for those seeking the nudist’s treasured no-lines tan. We enjoy hanging out at the park’s sparkling in-ground pool and covered hot tub. The pool and spa adjoin a large deck lined with lounge chairs for sunning. Nearby is a community clubhouse with a fully-equipped kitchen, which is good, because Prairie Haven has no food service — visitors must bring their own snacks.

Prairie Haven’s season runs from mid-April through mid-October. Be warned if visiting in the spring or fall: The pool can be quite cool, sometimes uncomfortably so. But during the summer months, the water temperature is perfect, and skinny-dipping is heavenly. The park offers visitors several rental cabins in a variety of price ranges — all of them reasonable and much less costly than a good motel. We have found the cabins to be unfailingly fresh and tidy. Each offers a comfy bed, a microwave and a small refrigerator. Folks can also pitch a tent in the park’s campground or bring in their RV. Bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers are available on the grounds. For fun, members often schedule special events, including lots of activities around the summer holidays — Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. In addition, there are monthly potluck dinners on “open house” Saturdays (when first-time visitors get in free), a cheery Christmas in July dinner, a Hawaiian luau in August and occasional dances (If you haven’t danced naked, you owe it to yourself to give it a try). Prairie Haven is a member-owned and -operated club that bills itself as “family oriented.” Visitors are advised to call ahead for reservations, whether staying just for the day or overnight. "Prairie Haven is a RV and tent campground with several cabins to rent. Very peaceful and friendly place to spend a weekend in the buff. They have a heated pool and hot tub and lots of trails to walk around on. They have volleyball court, RC race track, shuffleboard, petanque and on the first weekend of every month a large potluck dinner. They have a kitchen if you are tenting.
