Mira Vista Resort Review

From: Camilla and Bill of Arizona

Everything about Mira Vista, which means "Beautiful View" in Spanish, lives up to that name. Watching the sun set over nearby mountains and seeing the soft glow of the moon on adjacent Safford Peak was both inspiring and soothing. Mira Vista not only feels and looks like a home run, it’s a home run with the bases loaded! Located only minutes off I-10, in Marana, Arizona, Mira Vista is easy to reach while still being far enough away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Tucson.

Mira Vista is owned and operated by the owners of Laguna del Sol in California, one of the most luxurious nudist resorts in the US! Another unique feature is that Mira Vista and Laguna del Sol is their "Ultimate Membership" to full members. The Ultimate Membership entitles the holder to up to 30 days at each of the resorts.

The pool area has many comfortable chaise lounges, some in the sun and some in partial shade, but it also has a huge shaded cabana for those wishing to be outside but not in the sun. A lovely waterfall flows and lulls poolside loungers to sleep. At night, lights make the whole area a fantasy land. There is free ice water. Showers and toilets just off to the side. The hot tub is in a huge stone arched structure entwined with plants. Its well shaded but at night, enough moonlight and starlight come in to make it a special experience. The temperature is just perfect for those hot days — refreshing, but not too warm. The temperature is also adjusted according to the season of the year, with it being warmer in winter and cooler in summer, part of the fine tuning for guest comfort that Mira Vista is all about. Natural desert plants, including dozens of giant saguaro cacti are all over the grounds at Mira Vista, adding to the southwest ambiance. A new conversation pool and a volleyball pool have been added.

There is plenty of parking, including for large RVs, but there is space for only a limited number them, so be sure to call ahead if youre planning on sleeping in your rig. There are several 30 amp water and electric hookups and one dry site. There are no sewer hookups but there is a dump station. Also many local truck stops, including Flying J at I-10 Exit 208, have free dump stations and water, along with propane and discounted fuel for Flying J members. Because vegetative and topographical screening makes Mira Vista its own private island, even though its very close to the city, one has the feeling of being just far enough out in the country.

One of the most impressive things about Mira Vista is the restaurant, currently open Thursday through Monday offering three meals daily. The food and service rate as the best of the best of any naturist park. Chef Gerard Convie serves up an eclectic variety of perfectly prepared and warmly served dishes. All windows from the restaurant also afford a wonderful view of the mountains and surrounding countryside.

Nude hiking opportunities abound outside of Marana and Tucson. There are several primitive nude friendly hot springs not far away, as well as commercial and dreamy Potters Aztec Baths, basic Essence Of Tranquility, and super clean Kachina Mineral Baths. Not far over the border into New Mexico is Faywood Hot Springs with two clothing optional soaking and sunning areas, as well as camping, lodging, and massage. Even more nude friendly is El Dorado Hot Springs in Tonopah with a separate nude only community area, as well as lodging, camping, and therapeutic massage. Shangri La Nudist Park offering full RV and resort services is conveniently located only 2.5 hours away from Mira Vista, 35 miles north of Phoenix in New River. Mexico is only one hour south of Mira Vista. Other nearby attractions include the Air Museum, Karchner Caverns, Kitt Peak Observatory, the Sonoran Desert Museum, Organpipe National Monument, Saguaro National Park, and more. Inquire for further information. Stay tuned for news on planned condos and an RV park. Mira Vista is going nowhere but up! " – Camilla and Bill from Arizona

"I have been coming to Mira Vista for several years for day and occasionally overnight visits. I love the place. I have traveled a lot, and sometimes run into an un-escorted male ban. At Mira Vista they don’t care what you are, they care how you act. I am going back tomorrow." – Terry from Arizona

"Excellent resort, clean, well maintained, relaxing, and quiet. My wife and I enjoyed our 4 night stay in one of the condos, and hope to purchase one after retirement. If you’re a naturist or a nudist it’s a resort to put on your visit list." – Wilber from Oregon

"We have visited many clothing optional and /or nudist resorts in North America and the Caribbean. This is now our favorite. The facility is beautiful and very well maintained and managed. The accommodations were excellent. The food was the best we have had at a clothing optional resort. The staff and members were very friendly and always helpful. If you are looking for a fine, top notch clothing optional resort we recommend that you put Mira Vista at the top of your list. We definitely plan to return as often as we can."

"We did not stay at the resort because we had previous arrangements but we ending up going for 4 day visits in a week because it was so nice. Next time we are just staying the week. One of the condo owners showed us her place and they are top notch. We loved everything about Mira Vista – the pools, the food, the sun, the people and again the food. Their chef could be working in any 5 star restaurant!" – “M” from Alaska

"GREAT resort. If you are reading this you are thinking of going just call and book it. I have been to close to ten different nudist resorts before and this is the best. Pool area is huge and so nice including high end lounges. Very well kept, clean and just a fantastic place to spend a weekend nude. The guests seem in line with the resort, top of the line. Other resorts that are “rustic” or really older and a little beat up which is fine don’t compare. I’ll be back very often and bring my friends." – Jay from Arizona

"Holy Cow, what a great resort! The area, the facilities, the history and especially the staff are simply the best. I can’t wait to make another trip out to Mira Vista. The food is unbelievably good. The members and guests were very friendly and made me feel welcome and appreciated. The owners happened to be on site and made it a point to speak with me, obtain my opinion of their resort and honestly cared about making my stay as enjoyable as possible. If you are considering your first skinny dip or have never tried social nude recreation, this is one of the best places in the world to make your debut. Try it, I promise you’ll like it … and you’ll love this resort." – Randy from Georgia
