"Although we love the experiences we have had at Laguna Del Sol and have enjoyed meeting so many people with the same mindset, I am just getting the feeling that the staff working at Laguna just don’t seem to have their heart in it nor care what the experience their customers have. We have stayed several times and have found we are having to make repairs to the cottages we stay in (door jams are not being cleaned thereby making it difficult to slide the door opened and to close. No keys to the back door, Stairs are unsafe, etc. Back in October after returning to our cottage after a full day of hiking we opened the couch to pull out the bed so we could lie down while we watched tv. There was so much dog hair and food crumbs on the linen it was as though the sheets had never been washed. Needless to say, we closed up the sofa bed right away.

This past stay, May 2022, the satellite dish went out and we had to have someone come out in the morning to make the repairs. While the gentleman was out here we told him about the front door lock was very loose and difficult to close shut. He noted the metal on the lock was totally broken. So he removed the lock altogether and told us he could repair. He disappeared for the rest of the day. We did run into him on our walk and he said he had to send someone out to pick up the part. Never heard anything back. In retrospect, we should have insisted he leave the lock since it did work, it just wasn’t very secure. Because what we were left with was a door with no locking device, just a hole in the sliding door.

We ran into one of the maintenance managers and she said she told staff about this lock needing repair two weeks ago. Yet nothing was ever done. Since we were not initially given a second key to work with the bedroom door (front door and bedroom doors use 2 different keys) she left to get us a key so that we could lock up when leaving the cottage. She never showed up and no one gave us an update. I realize there is a staff shortage and current employees are doing the best they can but to me if a door lock is removed entirely from a cottage that should be given a bit more priority if you are to ensure the safety of your guests.

I am concerned with the lack of maintenance and lack of follow through. We spent over $400 (which included pet fee and daily resort fees) for a two day stay and we were virtually tied to our cottage waiting for someone to show up. Although we took a short walk on Monday we pretty much were waiting for someone to show up and give us an update. I would have expected the resort to give us a solution while we were staying at the resort, not a feeling of no one cared enough to give us an update. No other cottage was offered up so we could move to a cottage that was in working order. No solution to make our stay more comfortable. Not my idea of how a resort should be treating their customers. When checking out and in giving staff a brief synopsis of what took place the only comment was: “that’s too bad, well maybe you’ll have a better experience the next time. ” No suggestion of a refund or of a discount, no apologies. We spent over $400 to sit inside the cottage for a good portion of our stay. That’s not the customer experience I expected.

We love the resort so much so we reserved a weekend (Sunday and Monday stays) each month from May through October. We like to come back but with the lack of customer service when needed it has me questioning whether I ever want to return. The cottages are too much in ill repair and the indentations in the floors didn’t exactly give us a warm and fuzzy feeling. The floors need replacing. Yes, there are other options but again I don’t have a lot of confidence in services provided.

Because of this experience I sent them an email to inform them we would like to cancel all future reservations. I have sent several emails and have yet to receive a response. I would not recommend staying here if you are expecting any customer service in any form." – Alice from California

"My experience over the last couple of years has been that everyone is welcoming, friendly, and relaxed. So, my trips to Laguna have increased more and more each year. I’ve visited more than a couple handfuls of occasions. Always have a great time. It’s all about relaxing and enjoying the lifestyle, sunshine, and conversations with others. If you’ve never been, the check-in team is awesome and sets the stage for your visit. Other team members are also amazing. Absolutely love Laguna (LDS) and will return for as many years as possible.

PS – If you read this, stop by restaurant/bar and ask for Chris (sp? Kris?)! She’s super nice, fun personality, and a ‘friggen’ great cocktail maker. Tell her Toby recommended you. She’ll make sure you’re hosted by the perfect restaurant associate.

PPSS – Ask for the Birthday Cake, Mudslide, or Peanut Butter Mudslide (OMGosh)!"

"The wife and I have been going to Laguna Del Sol for 10 years and have been “Gold” members for over 8 years. Laguna is relaxing, peaceful, spacious and a perfect place to meet lifelong friends or just unwind. We have an RV so we take advantage of the resort more often than if we had to use the hotel and eat our meals out all the time. Other RV friends and I like to joke that we get all of the fun and beauty for just $14 a day! Even if you add in the membership, there isn’t another vacation destination anything like this for the price. Another thing that needs mentioning, whether you are a first time visitor or 10 year regulars like us, the staff is fantastic! Thanks especially to the office staff! Ok… and to the bar staff, grounds keepers, pool guy, maintenance and others that go completely out of their way to make Laguna a fantastic and safe place to relax! No. . .this isn’t a paid advertisement. . .just a review from someone who’s been to Laguna many times and who can’t wait to get back." – Grandpa from the United States of America

"There is a lot to do at this resort. Plenty of facilities. I love the lake, and the paddle boats you can use to paddle with around the lake. It’s awesome just after sunset – everything looks golden; the sky and the lake. On Saturdays, I enjoy the volleyball games next to the restaurant. The indoor pool and hot tub make it nice for the winter. The most crowded pool is the “middle” pool, where a lot of drinking by the social elites goes on. One of the residents there told me the drinkers do not get out of the pool very much. That concerned me.   Instead, I used the “upper pool” where its not crowded at all. It’s a friendlier atmosphere there. I love taking walks around the lake, although it’s best to do that in the morning, before it gets hot (summer). If you can overlook the snobs in the middle pool, it is a nice place to visit. There is something for everyone." – Phil from California

"We love visiting Laguna del sol. The resort is beautiful The grounds are always so well groomed. The because the staff is amazing. They always have a smile and a warm welcome for us each time we visit. Each time we visit they make us feel like us are their most important guests, although I suspect that they make all of the visitors feel that same warm welcome. The office staff is so welcoming! There is an very nice gentleman who apparently works on the grounds, but also lives at the resort. We have had to call on Jay late at night on several occassions. Once for a broken water pipe (which was our fault) and once to capture a rattle snake that had climbed under our fifth wheel. No matter how late at night, Jay always greets us with a smile and a “No Problem” attitude. He is quit the great Rattle Snake catcher, by the way! It is the warm friendly personnel that keeps us coming to Laguna del sol. Laguna is definately our favorite resort and we have traveled to quit a few." – Mike from Florida

"This was our first experience at a clothing optional resort. We were very nervous at first. However, the beautiful and peaceful grounds soon relaxed us. As we walked around we found all the guests to be polite and friendly and welcoming. We camped on the NE side of the lake at the end of the newer hotel. Bathrooms were very close here and incredibly clean! We spent most of our time at the indoor pool at the hotel and met some really friendly people there. The water in the pool is non-chlorinated and very easy on the skin. We had a couple of meals in the restaurant and I have to say the wait staff are the greatest. They are very accommodating and friendly. Kristyn is the best! The only downsides I could find are the following: when I parked my trailer it was a little over the boundary. The grounds keeper was a little gruff in pointing it out to me. I talked to him for a few more minutes and he turned out to be a really nice guy but he could probably use a few classes at charm school. Also the front desk staff seemed to almost be suspicious in the way they treated us initially. However, after I had shed my clothes and went back to the office to ask a few more questions they were much more friendly. They are sticklers for following rules here but I won’t list that as a negative. It means that I’m not the only one following the rules. It makes for a comfortable safe environment for everyone. My wife was initially very apprehensive about going, but after two days she saw how safe the environment really is and was able to walk all over the park by herself fully nude and with no worries at all. Pros: Beautiful lake HAMMOCKS! On a scale of 1 to 10 the pools are 11. Grounds are meticulously maintained. Quietest campground Ive ever been to. Friendliest campground I’ve ever been to. Most relaxing experience of my life! Cons: Too many people know about this gem and it gets crowded on weekends!" – "S." from California

"Our favorite resort – People are always friendly – Have met lots of nice people there. Now starting to see more younger adults which is good. Facilites always clean. The BYOB option is nice. The poolside drink service is very cool and the weekend BBQs poolside are also convenient and good. The chairs by the main pool are all filled early on the weekends so get there early. The walk to the river is easy, scenic and adds to the experience. We love this place and go as often as we can. The place is mostly all couples unlike some other resorts with lots of single men. The only consistent negative is a resident old lady who lives across from the main pool and has taken it upon herself to be a self appointed policeman. Have spoken to a few others who have had problems with her. Just ignore her and everything else will be GREAT. See you there." – 49er fan from California

"I have to tell you that this was our first visit to LDS. We have been to other clothing optional resorts in the past but this is our new favorite. We have friends in the valley area who rave about LDS and talked us into this trip…thank you Maggie and Jose !!!! We camped right on the lake and it was like heaven. Our first morning we woke and went for a walk around the water and saw a good size lake turtle which I enjoyed because I have a belt buckle with a real turtle on it. The pool was always being cleaned and the restaurant did a wonderful job with our meals. We normally keep to ourselves, but we did go to one of the scheduled dances and met a nice couple from Vacaville who we have spoken with and plan to camp with soon. He’s a truck driver and shes an arc welder of all things!!! Anyway, thank you for the most unforgettable time ever!!! We cant wait to vist again. I said hello to the owner ( Suzanne ) one morning she seemed nice." – Terry from Massachusetts
