Change

There is only one thing constant in life: Change. But no one ever thought about a drastic change that will completely change the landscape of the world.

All of a sudden everything came to a standstill point and Covid 19 is just not a virus and but it has re-defined the meaning of everything on so many different levels. It is unbelievable that a microscopic virus pushed the world to the end where even the medical and healthcare facilities were speechless and clueless about the situation. All around the world people had to cancel their dream Adventure Travel Plans and work from home. No one ever thought in their wildest dreams of being stuck in a country for months or even years, not able to meet and hug their loved ones.

The terms like social distancing, lockdown, quarantine, and isolation gave chill down the spines. All of a sudden strict travel restriction and compulsion of wearing a facemask, gloves and the use of hand sanitizer was enough to drive people crazy across the globe.

It was so scary that we were not able to shake hands, hug and sit next to our friends and family. The intense anxiety, fear, and depression were quite evident as people were not only losing their loved ones but also their source of earning as well.

Covid 19 proved that life is unpredictable and uncertain and affected us in ways we never imagined before. It is crystal clear that traveling and tourism are amongst the hardest hit industry worldwide. Seriously no one ever thought about a situation where airports were closed, flights canceled, no visa approval, mandatory Covid report for traveling purposes, imposing travel bans on hardest-hit countries, and the list of horror stories go on.

This highlights the gravity of the current pandemic. No doubt it has taken the world by storm and the traveling sector is no exception to this. Consequently, all means of transportation and commute were closed and for the first time, the crude oil industry reached its lowest point because of strict travel restrictions worldwide.

It is quite challenging to adjust to this “NEW NORMAL” where everything has completely changed and people are grappling hard to get a hold of their lives. Well, it is not all doom and gloom and there is always a ray of hope no matter how hard it gets. Credit goes to the tireless efforts and sacrifice of medical healthcare workers in providing top-notch facilities to patients despite losing their own lives.

The blood, sweat and tears of healthcare workers along with the production of vaccines enhanced the chances of returning back to normal life. Even though the uncertainty factor is still on the rise because of emerging mutations and variations in the virus. Hence, it puts the traveling industry again at great risk. Although the situation is much better and improved as compared to the previous ones the fear of delta variant does not allow the industry to be fully functional and operational.

Moreover, the traveling industry has faced huge losses worth billions of dollars and still going on. Even most of the airline’s shut down their business, loaded off the crew, major cut-off in salaries, and depriving them of all the bonuses, incentives, and promotions to overcome the immense business loss due to Covid-19.

The dark clouds of uncertainty continue to loom on the travel industry because of the emerging Delta variant and no one knows for how long it will continue to be so. The future of traveling post-Covid 19 is more of a roller coaster ride with all of its ups and downs. Countries are trying hard to get everything under control and normalize the visitor influx but in the end, health and safety matter the most.

Post covid 19 people prefer more road trips rather than air travels and above all, they have started to explore their country’s tourist spots. In this way, the local tourism has boosted and it’s a piece of good news for the country economy as well. International travel restrictions have proven to be a blessing in disguise boosting the local tourism industry and generating profitable revenues.

Lockdowns

Even if you are on an international trip or tour, you may find yourself stranded as the country might be in a state of permanent or temporary lockdown. Moreover, the strict rules and regulations forcefully close all the restaurants, businesses, and malls hence the essence of tourism is all done and dusted.

Above all the negligence of tourists in not properly wearing facemasks fuels the exponential growth of the virus. moreover extensive procedures before traveling like several corona virus tests followed by 14 days quarantine period make it quite taxing and tiresome for the visitors. In the same way, people are quite reluctant in making bookings for traveling as no one prefers to be locked down in an alien country. Hence people have accepted this new normal and are more happy and safe with their current place of stay.

Changes in Air Travel

The skyrocketing process of airfares has left people quite disappointed and speechless. Back then travel was considered a source of entertainment and exploration now it is more of a drill. People are not willing to pay the heavy price for this enjoyment. Be it traveling, health, or education sector everyone is trying their level best to come up with the most efficient and hassle-free alternatives to overcome this pandemic.

Final Thoughts

Covid-19 has changed the game of rules and no one knows what holds next. The traveling sector needs a full renewal program and change of business strategies to gain a strong foothold in times of crisis.

In a nutshell, life is not the same as it used to be. People are finding it quite taxing and hard to adjust to the “NEW NORMAL”. They are still in a state of shock of losing their loved ones, witnessing the worst health and economic crisis, and facing the emerging variants of Covid19.

It has taken a toll not only on the mental well-being of the people but has deprived millions of people out of business. Traveling and tourism were a breath of fresh air in the past but now it is more like losing your last breath left!
