Packing Tips to Help You Travel Smart

Whether you are packing for a long holiday break or a city break or two week beach holiday, you should consider these amazing and handy packing tips to make traveling easier more comfortable. With these useful tips, you can have your most favorite outfits in your luggage along with other necessary travel items.

Travel-Friendly Fabrics

Travel Dresses

It is very important to choose the travel-friendly fabrics, for example, a pair of stretchy jeans or shirts. These fabrics resist wrinkles, and when they crumpled in a suitcase, the creases will fall out when you will hang them. Fabric selections like linen or cotton are also popular choices as they “breathe” nicely in tropical regions, but will need to be ironed once you arrive at your destination.

Roll Your Clothes As You Pack Them

The Roll method is very popular when packing clothes and saving more space in your bags. This method will also help you reduce creases on your clothes. So here’s how to do the roll-method. Lay down your clothes face-down, fold the sleeves over the main torso area and roll up from the bottom. If you are packing your pants, put the legs together, and roll from the waist down. This is an easy and useful method to prevent creases. Isn’t it? Before shoes and other accessories, pack your pants and tops first because they will be aligned easily in the bag.

Footwear Selection

Shoe selection totally depends on the type of holiday you are going to have. Usually, experienced traveler suggests wearing a good pair of walking shoes on the plane surface to avoid packing and carry them all the way along. A casual pair of shoes, crocs or trainers plus thongs can be a great fit if you are also going fora beach walk. Shoes can take a lot of space in your packing bags. Try to minimize the number of pairs and select the ones that are comfortable and sturdy enough for strolls. Never bring brand new shoes or the ones you haven’t tried on yet. A number of horrible experiences are on travel blogs where you will get an idea of how much pain new shoes can cause during climbing or walking through hills.

Equipment

Airport Traveler

In the era of smartphones and social media, you will be bringing chargers and tech. When it comes to packing small equipment, the charger is the first thing that usually comes in mind. The universal charger can be a good idea so that you can charge your accessories like your mobile phone and laptop. if you are a photography lover, of course you will bring your high-resolution camera with you to save memories during traveling. Don’t forget to get a small flashlight with you so that you get some light while you are out at night or camping. Earplugs or headphones are also important to bring along to enjoy your music during that long flight to your destination. While most nice hotels provide a hair dryer, many women insist on bringing their own hairdryer along. Don’t forget items like an an eyelash curler and hair straightener. If you are going to enjoy your vacation, a girl’s gotta get her best look on! Right?

Food

Research the food available at your destination. If you have certain dietary needs, you may need to pro. A small jar of coffee or a pack of herbal tea would be great as they aren’t permitted so far. Get dehydrated foo that is more lightweight than bread or any other food. These are also useful if you are camping at night or bush-walking for kilometers. A number of travelers want to lose weight while traveling for long. In such cases, creamy and fast foods aren’t a good idea.

Medications

Always remember to take some of the important medicines with you even if you are a hundred percent healthy. While I am not a doctor and cannot recommend nor prescribe medical advice, here are some remedies that have worked for me. Be sure to pack your pain relief medicine of choice such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen or Tylenol to relieve headaches and aching legs from all the walking around. You can use these medicines when you feel dizziness after hours of flight or road travel. When you are camping outside at night, if you get an insect bite or a bee sting, Antihistamine tablets are generally good to take. Airplanes are germ-filled. When you fly to your destination, you are much more susceptible to the flu and colds. Cold and flu tablets can help you minimize the effect of the sickness so you can enjoy your vacation without being bedridden or having to visit a doctor. Besides that cough medicine, motion sickness tablets and throat lozenges or drops might be available in the local store of the destination where you are staying.

Lighten Your Load

Overpacking

Prefer lightweight suitcases over the heavier ones. The lightweight suitcases often give you more space and capacity to pack. Try expandable suitcases or luggage bags in which you can pack the things, and when you arrive at your destination hotel, you can unpack the luggage and fold the bags to keep them safe for future use. If you are a travel and shopping lover too, then you might need to have an extra travel tote or day-pack that folds flat in your luggage so that you can pack the items you have shopped. Hand carries tote bags can also help you carry your important stuff in your hand so that it doesn’t get mix in the luggage.

Avoid Over or Under-Packing

Over-packing means breaking more things or cramming the most precious items you love to get with you for use. You will not be easy carrying a lot of luggage, it’s more like a house shifting than a dream vacation. Always stay moderate while packing things up. Carry those things that are very important, and you cannot go without them like clothes, medications or charger, etc. it doesn’t mean that you under a pack and leaves things behind because you are afraid that you can’t carry things you need the most. If you are traveling internationally, you need to stay balanced in packing because you might get into trouble at the airport.

Conclusion

These tips will genuinely be helping you in packing for your dream vacations. Getting things in the bags in a decent way can really be helpful to get you out of trouble as well. If you know any great tips, please share it with us.
