Dubai Creek and Al Seef District
The creek basically separates the city into two different areas. One is the Deira which is towards the North while the other one is called the Bur Dubai which is towards the South. The creek was the place which expanded the growth of the city as a lot of people originally lived near it. Many settlers came to the creek for pearl diving and fishing.
The place has a very different feel to it. It has a lot of old buildings surrounding it. Apart from that, there is also a market which is decorated with Arabian lights near the creek. It sells Arabic, Turkish and Pakistani items. It is a mere delight to shop from there and not to mention the shop vendors’ bargain which makes the shopping worthwhile.
The area contains a lot of restaurants which serve Arabic food with shishas. It is an utter delight to sit at the waterside and have lunch or dinner. Also, the other fun element is that there are boat rides available which take you from Bur Dubai to Deira. Deira also has a small restaurant near the creek which serves some lip-smacking fresh fruit juices.
Jumeirah Mosque
It is one of the most beautiful mosques you can find in Dubai and looks like an exact copy of Cairo’s Al- Azhar mosque which is eight times its size. It serves as a beautiful example of Islamic architecture and is worth a visit. Started in the Medieval Fatimid tradition, a stone structure was built during that time.
The mosque also has two beautiful minarets which display the subtle stonework details. It looks gorgeous in the evening because the mosque is illuminated with different lights. The tours to the mosque are carried out by the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Cultural Understanding for the whole week except for Fridays. Located near the famous Zabeel Park on the Sheikh Zayed Road, the frame also has a gallery known as the Futuristic Gallery. It basically shows the city views of the future.
