Going to the seaside, smelling the fresh ocean air and hearing the sound of the waves or going for a long ride towards the mountains to experience the snow on the lofty peaks seems like a good idea. Traveling itself, is a great way to freshen the mind, motivate yourself to learn new and better things and observe the different nature of the various areas. It doesn’t matter what the destination is. What matters is the amount of enjoyment and amusement amid the journey.

Though you need to ensure having all the necessities with you for your journey to proceed smoothly without any hassles. You might put your favorite polo shirt in your bag but you miss out on the important things. There are some other secret essentials you must add to your traveling bag which you will find very useful in times of need. These small items are often overlooked and considered inapt but can be of great help when the need arises. Some of these items are listed below:

Mini First Aid Kit

First Air Kit
While traveling, there is a chance that you might get into a minor or major accident thus, having a mini first aid kit in your traveling bag can help you overcome any situation like bleeding or treating cuts and scrapes. This timely assistance can be very effective to stop the condition of a person from worsening and can also save lives. It is not convenient for everyone to carry a well-equipped first aid kit in their traveling bags. So it’s much easier to carry a mini kit containing few basic items of need such as bandages, alcoholic wipes, ointment, painkillers, thermometer, scissors, and latex gloves (in case you’re handling the body fluids of a stranger).

Hand Sanitizer

Hand Sanitizer
You may visit many different places and interact with a lot of people and things while traveling. One thing you should consider is to clean your hands before eating anything. It is hard to find a washroom or simply a washbasin anywhere and anytime. Or you might also not have access to soap and water to clean your hands and secure your health. A hand sanitizer is the best substitute, for water and soap, to add to your traveling bag. It is efficient in killing almost all the disease-causing pathogens like bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms. It is small enough to be easily placed in your traveling bag and to be carried around. Most sanitizers are chiefly made up of alcohol which kills the germs readily. Therefore, hand sanitizer is a must while traveling.

Tissue Wipes

Disinfectant Travel Wipes
This item may seem common and a lot of people do carry tissue paper with them while traveling but some people don’t. Tissue paper aids in doing a lot of things. For example, you’re having a meal and accidentally spill something on your expensive clothes like a branded coat or a polo t-shirt. That’s when the heroic tissue papers come and save you from further ruining your clothes. Travelling can also cause you to get all tired and sweaty during summers. Tissues can be used to dry all the sweat. Tissues can also be used to remove your makeup if you don’t have access to water. There is a chance that you might catch a cold during traveling and have to deal with a runny nose. Tissues can help you with that too. If you want to wipe off any dust or mud from your shoes or any other area, then it is then too that tissues can help. So in conclusion, tissues are also necessary to be added to your traveling bag.

Disposable Cutlery and Crockery

Plastic Utensils
It is inconvenient for travelers to carry cutlery around with them for their meals. Washing and taking care of it is another headache. To make your journey easy you should carry disposable plates, glasses, and spoons. They are light, small, and easy to handle. 2-3 pieces of each item, (or according to your requirement) can be added to your bag and can be used when you are about to have your meal. The advantage of it is that you need not worry about them once you are done with your meal. They can be easily disposed of.

Swiss Utility Knife

Swiss Army Knife
A pocket knife can also be carried with you while you travel. It has a lot of advantages, especially for adventurous travelers. It can be used to cut any fruits or veggies you bought. It can also aid you if you go camping in the jungles or near the wildlife. The best use of a pocket knife which I find the most important is self-defense. It is great for self-defense in case you’re traveling alone. It is small yet serviceable. Moreover, it can be easily accommodated in your bag.

Final Thoughts

The COVID Pandemic has made us appreciate the benefits that traveling has on one’s soul. A whole year in isolation as we try to avoid the virus has made people motivated to book a trip to to explore and learn other ways and other cultures. Why don’t you join them and enjoy the journey!
