Choosing a hotel may not be the most important factor for everyone, but the correct lodging can make or break a vacation for me. Of course, depending on the location, services, luxuries include view, luxurious rooms with luxury mattress, your hotel priorities will differ.

Budget

Budget is typically the deciding factor when it comes to choosing the ideal hotel for you, especially since it will eat up a significant portion of your vacation budget. Consider how much you want to spend on the hotel once you’ve established your overall budget for the trip. Would you rather save a little money so you can spend it on things like activities, vacation, and dining out? Is it more important to spend money on a five-star hotel?

Also, keep an eye out for deals on the website or other deal sites. If you pay in advance, travel off-season, or during the week, it may be less expensive.

Location

The next step is to choose your hotel’s location. The location may be required – you must be near an airport, but it is more probable that the site will be chosen based on personal taste.
If you’re going on a city break, do you want to be in the heart of the city or in a quieter neighborhood? Would you prefer restaurants, bars, and stores to be just outside your door, or would you prefer some peace and quiet?

Style

We all have our favorite styles and what works best for us. If you want luxury travel, you can opt for a typical luxury hotel, a boutique hotel, or a design hotel, as I did. Do you prefer branded luxury or self-contained luxury? All of these styles appeal to me since the most crucial factor for me is a sense of place, while some luxury hotels are so generic that they could be anywhere.
A traditional luxury hotel will almost always deliver the best service, so that may be your first priority. A boutique hotel may have more personal touches and feel more private or homey, but a design hotel’s decor and architecture are generally unique.

If I choose an independent hotel, I prefer ones that make you feel like you’re a family member and have a particular personality and flair. All of these sorts of hotels provide the level of personal service, attention to detail, and personalized treatment that I look for in a hotel.

Conveniences

Some people require specific amenities, so make sure you double-check the website to confirm that your lodging has all you require, whether they have a spa and hair salon, Wi-Fi, child-friendly amenities and a children’s club, and a high-quality restaurant and hotel breakfast.

If you’re traveling for business, you may want to make sure your hotel has everything you need, including conference space, a phone, and a refrigerator. Is there a gym on the premises? Is there a parking lot? Is it possible to have a 24-hour reception? Is it possible to have a club room? Is there a VIP concierge? Is there a laundry service available? We’ve even stayed at motels that give you your automobile.

Different amenities are important to different people, so double-check that it’s appropriate for you. Is there a particular facility or unique selling factor that distinguishes one hotel from the other if they are both great in every way?

Quality Assurance

Even though a hotel is rated five stars, that does not mean that it is of high quality. Trust me; some booked hotels that appeared to have all the bells and whistles on the website and looked beautiful, only to be disappointed with dirty rooms, bad service, and terrible cuisine when they arrived. It’s a rare occurrence because you should be meticulous in your research and quality control checks.

One thing you can count on from premium branded hotels is consistency and adherence to tight protocols to ensure high levels of hospitality and service.
Because variety is the spice of life, consider a hotel that has been hand-picked for a certain collection instead of going for the safety of branded hotels.

Seek recommendations from bloggers, Instagram, and friends that you can trust. If you know you have similar tastes, expectations, and needs to someone, you’ll likely enjoy the same hotels. Search for the hotel on YouTube as well as on blogs; a film created by someone who isn’t linked with the hotel can reveal hidden problems that the hotel isn’t aware of.
