The Nude 5K Series Continues at Oaklake Trails Naturist Resort in Oklahoma. In my last article, I introduced you to Amanda, who had a lot of “firsts” at Wildwood: first race of any kind; first nude 5k, first time nude in public; first medal of any kind (she finished 1st among all women runners); first time at a nudist resort.

On April 10, 2021 the Nude Racing Series of the Southwest Region of The American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR-SW) resumed. Our last race before that was in October of 2019, so, instead of having a 5-race series, we had a no-race non-series for 2020. The series continued Saturday, April 24, at Wildwood Nudist Resort near Decatur, TX.

I went down to Freedom RV Resort near San Antonio a couple of Saturdays ago. It’s now a Clothing Optional Resort. I Met the owner Dee. She and her husband were nudists since the early 80s. When they retired from the military, their dream was to run a nudist resort.

I attended the Midwinter Board Meeting of The American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) at the Suwannee Valley Nudist Resort in North Florida. If that river sounds familiar, the street name is Stephen Foster Drive. It was beautiful there. The club has 30 acres, most of which are woods, with a nature trail.

At an AANR board meeting a few years ago, someone said that office staff at a nudist resort should be dressed because it was a business. I said that it depends on what business you’re in. Everybody laughed and I lost the floor before I could explain what I meant. I meant that our business, the business of every nudist resort, club, or organization, revolves around an idea, the idea that clothes are unnatural, being naked is natural.

What do nudists do? We run, or walk, in Nude 5ks and we are at Wildwood Nudist Resort, near Decatur, TX, northwest of Fort Worth. Wildwood is exquisite with two solar heated pools, green lawns, neat trailer homes and houses, plus 25 or so acres of woods.

What Do nudists do? We Run, or Walk in Nude 5Ks. We do this five times a year: twice at Star Ranch near Austin; once each at Wildwood and Bluebonnet northwest of Fort Worth and at Oaklake Trails between Oklahoma City and Tulsa. There was a time that we had 8 races per year.

What do nudists do? We bowl naked. In my case I bowl once a year when Hill Country Nudist sponsor a nude bowling night at the oldest bowling rink in Austin. If it were a chance to be nude, I would play a game of Go Fish.

A few weekends ago I flew to Tampa and got a shuttle to near Land ‘O Lakes, FL. When I was not in the AANR meetings I roamed the Lake Como Resort grounds. If David Letterman knew about Lake Como, he would call it “a happenin’ place.”
