"We stayed the from Nov. 15 to Nov 23, 2010. All inclusive for two CAD $1150. We were a little worried about the hotel because of the reviews we read here, expedia etc. The complainers are spoiled brats! If you want 5-star then you have to pay for it! Our room was looking at the pool. – Try to get ground level that comes with a little walk out balcony on the pool side. The food was great. A La Carte until it got busy. But the buffet was excellent as well. The rooms were clean. The maid wouldn’t even take the 20 pesos we left under a pillow unless we told her. Oh yeah. You get there cheap, but don’t be cheap to tip!!! A 20 peso tip for each meal, under the pillow, pretty much whenever they do something extra for you. It’s not even CAD $2 for crying out loud! And they will appreciate it so much! Treat them the way you want to be treated! It’s the hospitality industry! They are living off the tips! The beach is small but not rocky. Maybe it was in 2007. And the beds have a foam mattress layer on them. So not hard at all. Once again maybe 2007. We will definitely would go back. And I don’t work for the hotel! So if you want a 5-Star Hotel, pull out your wallet and don’t come here. But if you want cheap – same city, same sea, same Malecon etc – this is a great place." – Peter from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
