"A group of 8 friends stayed here from Nov 5–15, 2014. It was the best resort we have stayed at. The food was delicious, the rooms were nice, the beach was good, good drinks, beautiful pools. We were all very happy with our 10-day vacation at Ocean Coral. When we arrived we didn’t get the rooms that we had asked for but were told to come back on Friday and they would see what they could do. By the time we might have been able to trade, we had already settled in the rooms that we had and decided just to stay where we were. We talked to a group of fellow travellers and they told us they have come there for 5 years in a row and it is the best place they had stayed in. I just have no idea what other people are talking about if they have complaints. If you complain about this resort then I don’t think you would be happy anywhere. It was perfect for us and we enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks Ocean Coral for a great vacation!" – Linda from Toronto, Canada

"I am not a picky person at all and have been on cruises (Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Costa) and loved them all. Ive also stayed at all inclusives.. RIU and Sandals resorts and had no complaints there either. My husband and I are in our mid 30s and are pretty easy to please. As long as we have each other, we always have a good time and find the best in any place we go to. However, something very disturbing happened on this trip and although I am not one to normally write negative reviews, I wanted to give you a warning if you have booked this resort. We stayed for 5 nights for my husbands birthday. Remember this point later in the story, my poor husband and it was his birthday. Anyway..we really liked the room and resort and thought the food was really good as well. All of that was great. No complaints, like I said… we are not picky. However, my husband got sick on this trip. We arent sure if it was from sun poisoning or from brushing his teeth with the tap water, but he got sick. He laid down in bed and I had a small trash can next to the bed. He threw up in the trashcan and just a little sprayed on the sheet (I am talking maybe a teaspoon of throw up and it was very light in color). Our maid was slooooow about coming around and cleaning our room. We would leave the sign on the door to have the room cleaned, but we would be gone for hours and she would not come. So that day that my husband was sick, I decided I didnt want throw up in our room and needed the maid to come as soon as possible. I called down to reception and said “Hi, Im really sorry, but my husband is sick, could you send the maid up if you can” They were nice and the maid came up and cleaned the room and she did a great job. My husband laid back down and about 30 mins later a man knocked on our door. I thought he was coming to check on my husband and perhaps offer him some medication from the hotel, but instead he told my husband and myself that when he felt better he needed to go to guest services to pay for the sheets. My husband was so sick at this point, he didnt want to argue and we both kinda just stood there shocked and in disbelief. How could they need an entire new sheet? Do they not have washing machines? and it was such a small amount, I would have happily just scrubbed it with a wash cloth and dealt with it if I knew what would transpire. We decided we didnt want to ruin our trip and go and argue with them and just hoped they would come to their senses and drop the issue. We had a good rest of our trip. The day came to check out and when we turned in our key, the lady at the front desk said we owed $55 for the sheet. My husband said “am I buying a new sheet or something?, I barely got anything on it”. She said “No, you are not buying a new sheet, that is the price to clean it”. Remember this is not the comforter or anything…this is a standard white hotel sheet that can easily be thrown in a washer in hot water with some detergent and bleach and it would have been fine. My husband said to her “can we have the sheet please, we will take it to the local laundromat, clean it and bring it back, $55 is absurd to clean a sheet” She refused and argued saying “You will not leave this resort until you pay the $55″. My husband could not believe it. Remember, happy birthday to him! I felt so bad for him. He said there was no way he was going to pay $55 to clean a sheet and so she said “well you arent leaving this resort without paying” My husband said “well I guess Ill be staying here another night then, because I am not paying” Her reply was “you can sleep in the lobby and she pointed at the couches”. This is the kind of treatment that I just could NOT handle. I felt I had to write a review about. I remember the first cruise that I went on and I got motion sickness and I got sick and the crew quickly came to my aid..cleaned up our room and brought me some motion sickness medicene. They were very concerned about me and continued to check on me and give me a thumbs up the rest of the cruise to make sure I was ok. It felt so good to have people care about you and take care of you. Unfortunately, that is not the case at this resort. Anyway they can squeeze extra money out of you, they will find it. I heard someone break a glass by mistake in the lobby and thought “oh, lord that is going to cost them a small fortune and that person will be charged for sure.” We tried to leave the resort without paying this fee because it was the principal of the matter, but they held our luggage hostage and would give it to us or issue us this ticket that you HAVE to have to get off the resort, so basically we were prisoners at their mercy…pay the money or lose your luggage and never leave the resort. I really hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Like I said, I am not picky at all and had planned on bringing my kids back to this resort and also having a girls weekend with my friends, but after this…I will never go back to this resort or visit any H10 resorts again. I am still in shock they could even do this to us. We spent thousands of dollars on this trip and they can’t wash a sheet? The craziest part is that $55 fee for the sheet will cost them much more in the long run….because any money we had planned on spending with them in the future will be going elsewhere. Good luck if you booked a vacation here. I hope you are treated better than we were. I go to the Caribbean at least 2 times a year, so their loss, not mine! Hope they enjoy that $55 and maybe a Maytag representative should visit the resort. They obviously need washing machines! What a joke/rip off! If you can cancel your reservation and get a refund and book elsewhere, do so! If not, take your own bedding. The $25 fee the airline will charge you to pack your luggage in a bag will be cheaper than these scam artists!" – Kirstine from Atlanta, Georgia

"My family and I stayed at this resort. It was horrible. When we booked our room we paid for a room with a king size bed we ended up in a room with two full size beds. When we asked the front desk why we didn’t have a king bed they said they ran out of rooms with king beds and we could push our two full size beds together. We had to wait in line at least 10 minutes every time we wanted a drink. The bars were way understaffed. We were supposed to have 24-hour room service. That wasn’t true. Room service stopped serving at 11 oclock. You couldn’t be in the water past 8 oclock at night. The security would make you get out of the ocean and the pool at 8. You had to be in “dress clothes” to be in the lobby or around the pool after 8 at night. My husband actually got kicked out of a restaurant because he had a tank top on although women could wear sleeveless shirts. It was a joke. We will not be staying at this resort again." – Caitlin from Ardmore, Oklahoma

"What a fantastic experience! This resorts offers everything and you really don’t need to look elsewhere for food, drinks or even entertainment. We arrived home today after a fabulous week! The rooms are clean and spacious with the fridge stocked daily. More tasty food than anyone could ever eat. No need to fear of an empty glass as they are constantly asking you if you want more. The beach is cleaned several times a day of seaweed. You do need to get to poolside or the beach early in the morning to get your lounger for the day. Everything is extremely neat and clean with a “make you feel at home feeling.” So friendly and helpful! Been home just over 12 hours and really ready to return. So much fun and such a great time!" – Annette from Chatham, Ontario

"What make a resort exceptional is the staff, managers, administration, owners. This Management/Owner/Staff has no integrity, no honesty, no character, the sales staff for the timeshare at Ocean Coral and Turquesa are SCAMers as many reviews tell their story. They start of real nice, giving you cash $100, then you go to their distant “paradise”, getting you away from the rest of the public. They sit you down and give you the “deal that sounds real good” on yellow pad paper and promise you “xyz” guaranteed for 15 years, with no annual fee. We got promised a free all inclusive week and 2 weeks of studio week free (not all inclusive), kids up to 12 are free, 20,000 RCI points and no maintenance fee for $7,000 for 15 years. We paid upfront. Sound good right. Until you use the contract. We used our free all inclusive week for 2011, but had to pay for the 8 year old which was 1/2 price. Ok fine. We just tried to use the free all inclusive for 2012, 1 week ago and were told “oh, it was only a one time deal of the 15 years term”. YET, the contract states PER YEAR. And have to pay for the 9 year old again. So we try contacting customer service through contact us – NO REPLY after 1 week. I call and thats only a “reservation line”, we have to email board.sales@h10permium.com to have someone call us back – because the sales department “has no contact line” – No reply yet, 3 days later. Called again – told we just have to wait for their reply – and other reviews states they never call, so lets see. The sales staff at Ocean Coral, specifically “Lalo”, “Kayleigh” – manager, and their so called “attorney” “Irma” are pulling this scam daily on foreigners. Because only Mexican Citizens can own real estate in Mexico. You have no recourse on time-shares. FYI the sales staff does rotate with the other H10 resort – Ocean Blue a few miles away – BE AWARE." – Niraj from Pottstown, Pennsylvania

"We had a great vacation. The staff was friendly, food and service was great. The only complaint was that everyone “reserved” their chair by the pool/beach by putting a towel on it very early in the morning and we had a hard time locating chairs to use. The hotel is trying to sell their “priviledge” program which entitles you to their exclusive beach area which had lots of chairs so it is probably just a marketing ploy to try to sell the upgrade. The other thing that was odd was that you couldn’t reserve for the other restaurants, you had to wait in line, but again if you bought the upgrade package you were guaranteed seating so it seems that their priority was to sell upgrade packages, but other than those 2 minor issues the place was fabulous!" – Leslie from Guelph, Ontario

"After waiting in an un-airconditioned lobby for about an hour to check-in, you have hotel workers bugging you to do a tour of the hotel… Don’t do it! We knew better! Then we had trouble finding our room which we requested a ocean-view or pool-view…we had a nice view of the bushes! The food was absolutely horrible, couldn’t even cook American food! Took forever for the cleaning lady to clean our room each day and once we were locked out because we left a few bucks on the dresser and secuirty went in our room and felt it was a security issue?????? Like wtf! Everytime we ordered room service they never got it right! The beach was very dirty! No one went in the water, well if you could get past the first 50 feet of seaweed and trash it wasn’t too bad! Very booring at the resort no activiities at all. I would not recommend this resort at all!" – Stacy from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
