2014 Cruise Travel Trends

2014 Cruise Travel Trends
2014 promises to be an exciting year for fans of cruise travel. New ships are coming online with each one crafted to bring exciting and innovative passenger experiences as never before. The cruise lines are also adding new ports of call to their ship itineraries and revisiting others not stopped at in years.

One of the major reasons for cruise excitement in the upcoming year will be the debut of Royal Caribbean’s massive new 4,180 passenger and 1,142 foot long Quantum of the Seas. This ship continues the legacy of Royal Caribbean’s blending new passenger experiences along with the class and style of fine hospitality.

Not to be outdone, Princess Cruises debuts its new 3,560 passenger and 1,079 foot long cruise ship the Regal Princess. This is the sister ship of their highly acclaimed cruise ship the Royal Princess. The Regal Princess will feature the SeaWalk, a new cantilevered catwalk along the outside of the ship with a see-through floor to the sea. Not for everyone I don’t think…but some will love the thrill. However, one thing sure to be loved by experienced cruisers will be the Regal Princess’ largest ever deck pool and common area in the Princess fleet.

Norwegian Cruises will also be sailing a new ship in 2014 with their new 4,028 passenger ship the Norwegian Getaway. This new ship will feature all the fun amenities and experiences that have reinvigorated NCL cruises, but this ship will focus on providing an awesome entertainment experience for passengers.

With the ever popular “Wave Season” booking period ready to launch at the first of the year, now is the time to go online and research the new ships, the different cruise lines and the new itineraries to see what interests you. Then my advice would be to contact your professional Travel Agent to see what packages they can offer to save you money or provide extra amenities to make your cruise more enjoyable.

Happy Cruising!
