"Can you say Heaven? What a magnificently beautiful place. Hats off to the staff whom were all very friendly. Everyone working here made us feel welcome. Hola is constantly called out from staff members cheerfully as they were all hard at work. From the meticulous grounds to the absolutely stunning clean pools and beaches I can not thank the resort staff enough for making us feel welcome to Mexico. For food, there is something for everyone terrifically always prepaid and pallet pleasing. The rooms were cute and authentically rustic in a charming way. The weather was stunning. I will definitely be back and was depressed to leave. Muchas gracias, me encanta todo de ti!" – Lance from Abbotsford, B.C. Canada
"When we first arrived at the hotel, the front desk person was not familiar with procedure and upgrades. We had to wait for someone with more experience to help us. The food was not good. Very disappointing since we stayed in other Iberostar Resorts and the food was excellent. The main buffet was closed and to get a reservation we had to be put on a cancellation list or wait 2-2 days to get into restaurant. The best place to eat was the Japanese. Don’t eat any where else. In addition, when our room was cleaned, one of my wraps disappeared. I called the customer service and they told me that they will speak with the person who cleaned our room and they will get back to me. Never heard back. Its not the piece of clothing, it was the principal of the thing that I could not trust their staff to come into our room. When we were checking-out, I asked the front desk about this issue. I was told that I had to fill out mega forms for them to do an investigation. Thanks for nothing! We were ready to get on the bus and I just dropped the whole thing. So, if you are going to stay in this resort, don’t bring nice things with you and make sure you lock your important things in the safe. Obviously, the cleaning staff cannot be trusted. Learn my lesson – never will go back there again." – Tanya from St. Louis, Missouri
"We were very, very disappointed! The food was awful – the first night we went to the Mexican restaurant and could not eat anything. I am not a fussy eater, but this meal was the worst I have ever had. I ordered beef tacos and got three tortillas laid flat with hard grizzly meat that looked like dog food with no sauce or anything else. The lobby and grounds were nice, but our room was not nice at all. Not a 5-star. I ended up with bed-bug bites. Our lamp shades were broken and horribly stained and our shower had no water pressure. People were just ok- some better than others- more than once we would ask a question and they would give us the wrong answer- I believe they tried, but just weren’t trained well. The beach was nice, but this is NOT a 5-star. Possibly at one time, but it needs a lot of work. We stayed last year, not too far away, and we could not say enough good things about the resort. Do not waste your money on this resort- stay elsewhere." – Peggy from Jamestown, New York
"From the front desk to the servers, they are all excellent, Naomi at the desk is friendly and very helpful, bellman like Hector is worth a mention, hostess like Ulander at the Italian restaurant made us felt warm and welcome. The butler and concierge were so helpful that made our stay very pleasant. Victor and Rene are stars of Iberostar.
But we had a very unsatisfying and avoidable experience at the golf course if the young green marshal use his simple logic and tiny bit of patience. On March 04, my wife and myself had a tee time of 8:00 am. We were teamed up with a young couple, both are lawyers from Chicago. They were guests at Secret Resort. The lady is a fairly new golfer. During the first 6 holes the young marshal with trimmed beard, come and checked on us couple times. By the time we have finished the 7th holes, the marshal told us to skip the 8th and 9th holes and start at 10th hole. He said we are slow, so we proceed. When we arrived at 10th hole, there was group of foursome waiting to tee off. So we take our time go to washroom and have some refreshments and sandwiches from the wagon. When we start to tee off at this time at the 10th hole. we have 3 groups golfers, we are at the tee box and a group of twosome in the midst of the fairway and a foursome at green putting. After all we are not that slow at all. If we were too slow, we would not have wait that long at the 10th hole. The fun started when finished our 18th holes and we are suppose to play out 8th and 9th holes. This time we have to cut in and let four groups of golfer pass us and then start from 6th and 7th again. The whole game took about 6 hours or more. That night back in the hotel room #7149, we were sick, vomiting. I guess it was too much sun, maybe a case of sun stroke. Next day at the breakfast the group of golfers that was behind us from 1st to the 7th holes asked where we have disappeared too, and they said they didn’t have to wait at all. The question is; The marshal harrasing us because we didn’t feel like tipping him, or he did not realized that we were not PGA golf professionals. What a way to ruin a great holiday! I am quite sure the young lawyer couple wouldn’t book another vacation at Iberostar. What you think?" – William from Prince George, British Columbia, Canada
