"I have owned a time-share here for about 20 years. You want to talk about difficult? To talk to these people...believe me it does not exist. We have been trying to unload this unit in January for 10 yrs. We have written many, many letters and get no reply. We do not know who to contact on selling this or giving it away. Right now if you know someone who wants a cheap week in January, contact me at phone: 352-753-7920. We have just gotten too old to travel and our health is not so good. We could sure use some help on selling this or getting rid of it anyway. Make an offer. We will consider anything. I'm serious." - Vickie from The Villages, Florida

"We go every year because we bought a time-share from a friend. We love it because my kids know how to get around PV,we know where to eat, and where to shop. The excursions are all really good, (Francisco on the beach is the man to talk to).We have a kitchenette so we eat breakfast and lunch with groceries we buy across the street. The Corona store is a block away (cheaper when you return the bottles)! Starbucks, Costco and Walmart are all in walking distance if you can believe that....but we always try to buy locally. We go out for dinner in town, take the bus and its only 50 cents each. It takes you down to the Malecon to walk around and eat wherever looks nice. We like PIPIs, and La Dolce Vita restaurants. The restaurants at the hotel are not good except maybe breakfast and the ceviche is good for a snack.2 for 1 happy hour in the hot tub is always fun..There is a bakery/snack shop downstairs as well as internet and doctors office. We always feel safe in PV and its easy to get around, people are soooo nice. Take the bus from the airport, it still only 50 cents each instead of taking a taxi, live a little on the edge!!" - Laura & Chris from Sooke, British Columbia, Canada

"We always do All-Inclusive packages when visiting Mexico. This was the first time we stayed at a hotel that was basically a Time-Share with the option of a so called All-Inclusive. It started out by arriving at 11:00pm and after getting to our room with no offer of help from the staff, we changed and went down to find some food and drink. The restaurant and bar were empty. We found out that our all-inclusive package was only from 7:30am till 10:00pm. If we wanted something to eat or drink we would need to pay for it. The next day after having what they consider to be a buffet breakfast (where there were ants crawling over most of the pastry baskets) we waited to meet our Apple Rep. While waiting, we talked to the manager who informed us that their All-Inclusive package starts with lunch on the day of arrival and ends with breakfast on the day of departure. We had a kitchenette in our room but they did not provide more than the first days coffee supply. The grounds were beautiful but the staff seemed to ignore anyone with a bracelet on. They only had a choice of 2 restaurants for evening meals. During the day there is only 1. Would not recommend nor would we ever stay there again." - Bruce & Gerri from Mukwonago, Wisconsin

"This was our first trip to this resort and what you see upon arrival at the resort is much nicer than the internet pictures show, the rooms were excellent with very comfortable pillow tops on beds, I would rate this as a 4 star hotel rather than a three, it wasnt to difficult avoiding the time share spills , however when we didnt show any interest in hearing about the timeshare the concierge (Diego) who should know the room locations sent us in the wrong direction with our luggage to our room, we ended up at the opposite end of the resort from where our room actually was , thanks to his directions. other than that no complaints . The rest of the staff and all the resort had to offer was excellent, this is where I will go on my next Puerto Vallarto trip.
Tip: Leave the airport property and cross the street when seeking a taxi, you will save around $10 or $12 dollars for the trip from the airport." - Terry from Dallas, Texas

"The first one bedroom unit we got was in very poor run down condition. The unit was a total nightmare and not at all like the one bedroom shown on their web site. After complaining we were given a one bedroom that actually looked like the one on the web site. We purchased an all-inclusive package and found it to be a savings. The food and drinks were good The resort is very clean and the grounds are beautiful. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our week and are looking forward to return." - John & Joann from Oakbrook, Illinois

"Many people travel in Mexico and expect to get world-class accomodation for pennies on the dollar. Thats not quite how it works. Yes labor is extremely cheap, but beachfront property is sold or leased by the government at fairly high rates. Consequently, even though Mexico is "cheap," as a tourist you still get what you pay for. This resort seems to be near the top of the list in Puerto Vallarta but not quite at the top. The hotel staff is large and the service is not bad. The furnishings are not bad and the amount of space in each room is pretty good. You have to keep things in perspective. I have been in much better rooms elsewhere but I paid a lot more money for it. Yes, you will be hounded by poor people trying to make a buck, but thats the way the third world is. It differs by degrees but the same things happen in Most of Asia, Eastern Europe, etc. It is true that timeshare marketing is VERY aggressive. You simply tell them NO and you will not negotiate further. They get the message and move on the next fish. All in all its a decent resort for the price. You can get away with a lot of things in Mexico that you cant do at home. Theres no point at getting angry at poor people for tying to make a buck, and there's certainly enough to do to make it fun for adults alone or as families. You can pay more to get more, but this is certainly not a bad deal. If you want paradise, save your money, spend $1000 a night and go to Hawaii. If you want a cheap trip to the sun for Christmas without breaking the bank, this is a good choice." - Chester from Dallas, Texas
