The Landings Resort St Lucia
"View of the Beach at The Landings Resort St Lucia"
- My Vacation Lady

Remarks:
"The Landings is a 5-star villa resort located in the Rodney Bay area of St Lucia. While on a travel agent trip with the St Lucia Tourist Board, this Rock Resort was our home away from home for 3 nights. Set on the beach and on a marina, each of these 2-3 bedroom villas have a harbor or ocean view. My Vacation Lady's 3-bedroom villa was in building 4 and had a harbor view from the huge furnished balcony, complete with Jacuzzi. The villas are absolutely gorgeous and the 3-bedroom villa I shared with another travel agent had 2 master bedrooms with king size beds, a 3rd bedroom with 2 twins- each with their own bathroom, a powder room (with a washer and dryer- with detergent), full kitchen complete with dishes, silverware, pots and pans and more, a dining room and living room. Each bedroom had a flat screen TV. Wired internet access was available in the living room and I believe, in the bedrooms. WiFi was only available in the lobby or at the beach. The balcony was fully furnished with dining table and chairs, loungers and a Jacuzzi. These villas are perfect for large families or groups of friends traveling together. They are huge and would be larger than many people's homes. The kitchen, with its stainless steel appliances (you know, I don't remember if there was an oven but I certainly wasn't planning on using one) was complete with large refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. The granite countertops were gorgeous. You can arrange to have groceries stocked in your kitchen in advance of your arrival. If you don't plan on cooking during your stay, there are 2 restaurants on site. The Palms is their air-conditioned, fine dining restaurant located inside the lobby. We ate breakfast daily and dinner twice at the beachside restaurant. The food was very good although don't expect fast food. The service was very slow. We joked about how they must have the kitchen off site and they are boating the prepared food to the restaurant to serve. Dinner took an average of 2-3 hours and if you want breakfast, call down to order it 45 minutes before you anticipate arriving. While we weren't there to experience it, we were told that there is a Tuesday night BBQ and a Sunday brunch at the property.

Pools and Beach - While the beach was not what I would consider to be huge, it is an 800 foot cresent of beach on a nice calm inlet so the water was calm enough for children. There are 3 pools. The main pool was right near the beach (between my building 4 and the beach restaurant. There is a small adult pool and then the family pool which is shallow. There is bar and food service at the beach. The fitness center is air conditioned and open 24 hours a day and a good number of machines. The spa is lovely and they offer a good number of treatments in the 8 treatment rooms. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to use the spa but we did get a chance to see it, including the VIP room with a terrace and jetted tub on the terrace. The property does charge a daily resort fee of $30 per room (currently) which is included in packages booked through My Vacation Lady's trusted travel suppliers. The resort fee includes boat transfer within The Landings Private Yacht Harbor, kayak, sailboat, and snorkel equipment rental, beach and pool towel service, complimentary shuttle to Rodney Bay Village (reservations required), use of fitness center, afternoon poolside chair massages (11:00 - 1:00 pm daily), fitness classes (select classes, reservations required), managers weekly evening cocktail reception (seasonal), in-room high-speed Internet (wi fi is available in the lobby and at the beach), in-room daily coffee, tea and 2 bottles of "Rock water" (bottled water), local phone calls and incoming faxes, use of business services including copies and computer usage, room service delivery, tips to maids, bellhops and restaurant wait staff.

In all, My Vacation Lady was very impressed with The Landings, from the villas, to the service, to the great in room toiletries (don't miss the ROCK soap). It is definitely on my list of properties to recommend to clients. Who would My Vacation Lady recommend The Landings to? Families · Groups of friends · Weddings · Business meetings. While we wouldn't necessarily consider this property a honeymoon resort, I can see couples hold their weddings there and then a bit after the wedding, move on to one of the more unique, boutique properties in St Lucia for some alone time. The Landings is definitely a top notch property in St Lucia!

As a Professional Travel Agent, I am typically more critical of resorts than the average traveler. If you have specific questions, feel free to email me directly."
