Sugar Beach Resort
The Sugar Beach Maui Condo are moderate accommodations located on it's own stretch of nice beach. It is very near the Kihei boat harbor. Note: This condo does not provide daily maid service. You will feel that you have rented a furnished apartment. The ocean is pretty calm at Sugar Beach most of the time. Usually not much surf. This area is also some of the least developed in South Maui and is pretty low key. If you want some nice quiet time the Sugar Beach Resort Maui may be a good choice.

"We really didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly suprised when we landed at Sugar Beach Resort. The pros: Beachfront Condo with great amenities - washer and dryer in room were wonderful! Walking the beach to the ABC store every morning for coffee....It was relaxing and clean and very low key - just what we were looking for. We took off one day to explore the island and were surprised by a note left in the condo by someone who said they stopped in to check the disposal. Nice to leave a note but having a visitor while we were away was a little strange. We hadn't reported a problem with the disposal. The condo was comfortable and such a great location. I would do it all over again and hope to come back in the fall. Aloha!" - John & Suzy from Everett, Washington

"We have stayed at Sugar Beach Resort many times! The resort has gone through a year of remodeling and upgrades so just about everything is new! We love staying there especially in condo unit #333 because it is right on the ocean and very private! We saw dolphins and turtles right from the lanai. The beach is clean and about 7 miles long, perfect for an early morning walk! We love Sugar Beach on Maui. 15 minutes from the airport. Don't forget to stop at Costco on the way and get some food to barbeque. They have 6 huge barbeques near the pool area. If you want, there is a very casual sandwich shop where they will fix you lunch along with the drink of your choice. Then get a massage at the massage parlor. There is even a place where you can get info on tourist attractions through out Maui." - Laurie & Cory, Edgewood, Washington

"We rented direct from the owner of three updated remodeled oceanfront units with great views and beach access. Quiet, well maintained 230 unit resort condo hotel. Great location and easy to get around the island. 5 1/2 miles of sand beach made walking easy and fun. Abundant sea life and fanatastic snorkeling right offshore. Good value and we will return next year." - John from Denver, Colorado

"This is my second stay here. I stayed on the 6th floor ocean front(Penthouse). The view is always nice, you see sea turtles popping their heads up in the early morning. The waves are small are there are none at all. This is a VERY windy location, but I like it. Its quiet, not crowded on the beach, and this time we went snorkeling right out front. We saw many sea turtles, a couple of eels way down and lots of coral and fish, very nice. You have to snorkel at the right times so the water isnt murky from the winds. Easy access, just go downstairs and put on mask/snorkel and we just wore water shoes. You go out about 50 feet right in front of the pool area and you have a very nice snorkel area. They say manta rays live there also, I didnt see one. I did on a snorkel trip out by turtle town thou. The rooms are decent and fully equipt, just depends on which unit you get, some have older stuff, others newer. The spa is nice and big, pool area can get crowded but not too bad. There is a small market on the premises to get a few things and a deli/bar with sandwiches,nachos/chicken wings, etc. You have to drive to the bigger stores but they are only a few mins away. I enjoy this place." - Patti from Woodland Hills, California

"A great setting with beachfront access. No roads for the kids to negotiate. A little north of town so it is not a congested area. We had an oceanfront condo for a few well spent dollars more. The oceanview units overlook the pool and could be noisy. None overlook the highway, which can be busy. Centrally located pool and BBQ . We were on the third floor, so down the stairs to the beach! Expedia and snorkel rentals right on site, so lots to do. Units are small but well featured. The Condo Association must have received a great deal on wicker/bamboo furniure because its everywhere. Good kitchen. Bathroom was average. We had a queen bed with a sofa bed in the livingroom. The beach is continuous through several resorts, but very quiet. No huge breakers so its good for small children. A little rocky once you are knee deep. Go snorkeling in Makena." - Gordon from Calgary, Alberta, Canada
