Sheraton Kona Resort at Keauhou Bay

The Sheraton Kona Resort at Keauhou Bay has completed a $20 million rennovation. The entire resort has been updated and refreshed including new carpet throughout all common areas and hallways. The guestrooms and suites are also completely refreshed with new furnishings, carpeting and flat-screen TVs. The resort was purchased by Starwood's Sheraton Hotels in early 2004 and they have continued their investment to make this a top Hawaii deluxe hotel. The resort is now in wonderful shape and a great place to vacation.

The Sheraton Kona Resort is located on a cliff above Keauhou Bay and the Pacific, great view of the rocky coastline, but not much beach in this area. To satisfy guests need for water fun, the pool area is exceptional. The resort boasts a 14,100 sq ft pool. The 200ft Manta Ray Super Slide & Pool treats guests to a waterslide and multi-level system of pools unlike any other resort pool area in Hawaii. Additionally, there are two whirlpools hidden away among lush landscaping and a river system that connects the tiered pool. A sandy bottom children's pool includes a sandy beach area for play. The 521 sleeping rooms are fairly large with 420 sq ft of space on average. The rooms have been fitted with the new Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed -- featuring a custom plush top mattress, a cloud-like duvet and five deluxe pillows.

Facilities:
521 Rooms, Air Conditioning, Large Pool, Bar, 5 Restaurants, Fitness Center, Day Spa, Parking

"Our stay here was fair. The food at the breakfast buffet was poor, but the coffee was great. I found that if you wanted anything you had to drive 30 minutes to get anywere. The rooms were of standard quality, nothing special. I really exspected more. I went to hawaii the year before and stayed at a three star hotel and had a better room. The staff especially at the conceriege was snobby, I got the impression that we were disturbing them. The luau there was "OK" but does not compare to others like Smith's on Kauai. All and all I found the Hotel hard to find though you could see it. There were no signs showing how to get there. I think for the money I will get a different place next time." - Derek from San Diego, California
