"We stayed at Samba Vallarta for 5 nights. This was our 1st visit to Mexico and Samba was ideal. The staff was super friendly and made you feel so welcome every time they encountered you. I would like to give a special thank you to Adrian and Oscar at the restaurant, (Hola to the kids) and to Javier from the restaurant AND the pool bar. They were awesome and so sweet. Our room was fine, no smell that everyone sems to complain about. The food was fresh, delicious and plentiful and lots of variety. Our only "negative" was the ploy of saying "we have something for you" within an hour of arriving. When we went downstairs, the "concierge" tried to get us to listen to a time-share, offering free massages, deals on tours, etc. We weren't interested and after the 3rd day, my husband had to get blunt with him to back off. Several people we met shared the same experience.Question: Why is it necessary to have someone on site to hustle you about time shares? There is enough of that in town and at the airport? However, we are planning on going back this year, and will know better than to even begin talking to the time-share concierge. We loved getting coffee, fruit and "sweet breads" in the room every morning before our walk on the beach. Honestly, we enjoyed this very much and appreciate the effort they make to have everything super clean and friendly. I also noticed, this is an excellent place for couples, singles, kids, seniors, whoever!!! Lots of pool and beach to go around!!!We went to town one morning, but really, if you don't want to leave the resort if you don't have to. You won't miss a thing! Muchas Gracias a todo!!" - Bill & Barbara from Independence, Oregon

"This resort was awesome. The staff went out of their way to do anything for you. They were all super friendly (William, Martin, Gio,Omar, Mario) and tried their hardest to speak english:) The hotel was small enough where they all knew my name. Entering the hotel I thought it was small and was going to be boring, but it was so much fun. The rooms were a little smelly but thats only because it's in the tropics and it's like that almost anywhere. I suggest not hanging clothes in the closet unless you have bounce sheets, and put bounce sheets in the drawers. Entertainement at night was amazing. Both for children and adults, the dancers are amazing....and HOT. I love this hotel and the people at it, and can't wait to go back soon!" - Kathryn from Whitby, Ontario,Canada

"The resort was fine, staff very friendly, rooms clean, food was ok , but not great. The nightly entertainment was ok . One night of dancing would of been fine but not 5 it got a little boring. This is definitely a family (with small kids) resort, not really for teenagers because it is very boring after 11:00pm. We really enjoyed our stay at the Samba." - Barb from Alberta,Canada

"My husband and I stayed at the Samba and have nothing but great things to say about it! The staff there are so incredibly friendly! It is small enough that they get to know you. They remember your name and it really feels "homey" and relaxing there. The buffet is really good, and there is always a nice selection of food and nice fresh fruit all the time. The serving personnel are fabulous! We loved them! There are lots of activities to keep you and the kids busy, and if you just want to relax by the pool or ocean, they are always coming by to refresh your drinks. Just a lovely place - we would highly recommend the Samba to anyone going to Puerto Vallarta!" - Denise from Simcoe, Ontario, Canada

"What I liked best about this resort was the Staff! One can pretty much expect the staff to be friendly and efficient at Mexican resorts, but the people at Samba Vallarta surpassed all my experiences and expectations. They had such a warmth and cheerfulness that we felt right at home. The visitors were mostly Canadians and "Americans" so we guests didn't have that many Spanish speakers among us. That was never a problem. I tried my high school Spanish pretty often, but it wasn't really necessary, as the staff had a good command of English. We were at Samba Vallarta the first week of January 2008." - James from Albuquerque, N.M.

"I went to Puerto Vallarta on a free hotel trip with my family. My uncle Netto actually owns the Pueblo Bonito hotels so we got the Suite (the top room of the whole hotel). Which has its own balcony. I loved it. Every night I would sit out on the balcony and watch the storms. Then in the morning it would be surprisingly hot and sunny. I loved the people there as well! I didn't like the food because I am so picky. :) But some was alright. I loved being there because it was just a getaway. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Of course, because it's my uncles, but also because of the atmosphere. I loved the shows! They were entertaining. Negatives: Humidity!! I could never straighten my hair. It always turned into a poof ball! :) I wish I could go back." - Sadie from Wichita, Kansas

"I was travelling as part of a family with teenagers, and found the resort really fun. The waiters were very helpful and sociable. There was always someone you could ask to get you something or help you out. The bartenders were friendly, too and pleasant. the staff all-around were great. The activities people always had some sort of activity going on that kids and adults alike would enjoy. They made sure you had fun!! They were eager to please and did some really awesome evening shows! The accommodations were also very exeptional. overall the resort seemed very clean and sanitary which was great. The beach area was great, too. it was really great to see clean ocean water and nice sand! i really would like to go back to the Samba next year! ... you should too!" - Charlotte from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
