Here's our Royal Solaris Los Cabos Reviews
The Royal Solaris Los Cabos is one of the largest all inclusive resort hotels in Los Cabos resort area. This beach-front resort in the San Jose Del Cabo. The Royal Solaris Los Cabos is "all-inclusive" which means your food and drinks are included in the room price. Meals are buffet style and offer decent food, but not gourmet by any standard. The Royal Solaris Cabo Hotel is popular with families and is quite full most of the time. The hotel has 3 large pools, but are usually very busy areas with vacant sun-lounges a precious commodity. It does offer a separate kids club with supervised activity center and a teen club with pool tables and video games. The Royal Solaris Cabo Hotel has a great beach in front of hotel, but is not good for swimming due to strong undertoe current. This busy hotel is popular with families looking for a 3+ or 4- star all-inclusive Cabo resort.
Facilities:
400 Rooms, All-Inclusive Resort, Air Conditioning, 3 Pools, 4 Restaurants, Bars, Fitness Center, Day Spa, Parking

"We had a wonderful vacation and we were treated royally. The staff were friendly, helpful and made us feel very special. My one and only complaint is they went all out for the time-share people with exclusive meal and entertainment. For the rest of us there was not alot to do in the evenings, and we would have liked to have been included in the entertainment. For this reason only I would not go back" - Brenda from from Minnedosa, Canada

"We purchased 4 weeks at Royal Solaris last year and as a result, brought our family down there for Week 52 (between Christmas and New Years) for free -- all 6 of us -- food and everything was included. The food is attractively presented and there are MOUNTAINS of fresh vegetables and fruits at all meals -- also quite a lot of seafood. Fairly good variety -- we like the themed buffets especially and Panchos and Marco Polos are both high quality fine restaurants. Our personal rep, Mario, was wonderful. Very helpful and attentive. The downside of this resort is: very loud rock/pop music played blaring through speakers day and night; drove us crazy. Loud and raucous poolside quizzes and games every day -- no quiet public rooms with card tables or board games -- no library or DVD/video lounge -- resort is noisy. Air conditioning was turned up so that public areas were cold and uninviting due to the temp and the loud music. So we wound up staying in our room a lot more than we would have liked. San Jose del Cabo is by far the best town -- Cabo San Lucas is a jumble of tacky touristy places -- getting more and more congested. Very unattractive. The beach and Sea of Cortez are wonderful. We saw whales right off our beach. The outdoor jacuzzi was poorly maintained -- kids need to be kept away from the "quiet" pool and jacuzzi without adult supervisors there. In general though, we like it and we love not having to cook or go out searching for restaurants when we are on vacation." - Glenda from from DeKalb, Illinois

"The general staff, such as cleaning crew, waiters and bartenders were awesome. Nice, friendly and helpful. Everyone else on staff is there to sell you a time share. Dont do it. Say no the first time and ignore all subsequent attempts. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. Breakfast was the best meal of the day with all others being sustenance only. Little to no late night activity other than the theater show. By 10pm the place rolls up the sidewalks, for all except members. If you do go to this resort, go through a travel group like Apple or Expedia and go through their rep and their rep only - to book excursions outside the hotel. The hotel staff is fond of putting down all other reps in an attempt to get you into conversation, and a sales pitch. If you deal direct with the hotel staff for anything you get the sales pitch first. The entertainment staff at the pool is awesome. Its a bit loud and obnoxious sometimes, but you can remedy that by going to the quiet pool or to the beach. They are fun and entertaining and make a day in the sun more than just a day by a pool. Drinks are ok, choices are limited, but they're good enough for casual consumption. Go out to the bars in San Jose del Cabo or go down to Cabo San Lucas if you're really looking to party." - Tomo from Eagle, Wisconsin

"I've read the previous reviews and have come to the conclusion that either they have never been to an all-inclusive time-share or forgot the price they paid for the trip. I've been to Sandals in Jamaica. Paid twice as much and let me tell you the food at the Jamaican restaurant was unedible. The rest of the food on a whole was worse than at Royal Solaris Cabo. The bartenders give their schedules so you will tip them. Had several things stolen at the pool or room. The beach was terrible. Not to mention armed guards with dogs on the beach for security. Needless to say the vacation "ok" but the experience was terrible. I must state that I am a time-share owner. Yes, I do get better buffets than non time-share people. Yes, the time-share sales is in your face alot. But generally a no will suffice. I've been to neighboring hotels for time-share presentations and they were much worse. Time-share sales are part of Cabo. The food is not 5 star gourmet. Marco Polo's has very good Italian food. Pancho's is just OK. The buffets are the same as anybodies home town. The people are friendly. I've been there 4 times. Maybe I tip well, but they remember me and never push me for tips. For what you pay I think it is a very good value " - Thomas from Tom's River, N.J.

"I stayed a week at Hotel Solaris in Cabo during the Thanksgiving Holiday with the knowledge of an upcoming "no pressure" time share presentation. You are tagged with a plastic braclett upon registering to identify yourself as a hotel guest that you must wear all week. Youll have to pay another $70.00 if you loose the braclett. The rooms and hallways of the hotel are tile. Kids screeming and doors slamming can be heard throughout the day and night. Kids were everywhere including the "adult pool". The food is average and the alcohol is abundant. Merchandise veders are trolling the beach day and night to sell their goods and I was even approached by one such vender selling "weed" or "blow". The time share presentation was hard sell and was compared to buying a car. I was presented with so many offers I lost count. I was even approached afterwards in the lounge trying to relax. I did not buy the car. I will not go through that again. However, the town is wonderful. Nice people and shops. My advise is to stay at the hotel for the pool and alcohol and make the best of it, but go off property for the restaurants and fun. Its a $5.00 cab ride for your whole party anywhere local. Bring a lot of one dollar bills for tipping. Your money will go far in Cabo." - Sheldon from Palm Desert, Calif

"We just spent a week at the Royal Solaris in Los Cabos in Mexico. From 8/11/07-8/18/07. The day we arrived they started trying to sell us a time-share. We were not there to purchase a time-share. We was there for a week of relaxing in the sun. Every time you went through the lobby someone was asking you about the time share program, if you wanted to take the 4 hour tour of the property and if you did they would give you tours for free or let you use the car to go into town or they would give you tickets for the special dinners on the beach. This place caters to owners\time share guest everyone else is treated like a second class citizen. When you try to get dinner reservations, the restaurants are always booked. You are suppose to have between 8am-10am the day that you want to eat at Marco Polo or Poncho restaurants to make reservations and it takes a few days to find out that time-share people get to make reservations the day before so if you don't have reservations by 8:15am you are not going to get any!!!! We finally complained to the management about getting reservations and the guy promised to get them for us, well he didn't but he did tell us that if we did their 4 hour time-share tour he could offer us some freebees. They should make this a time share resort and quit ripping off hard working people that save all year for a week of fun and relaxation. We have never been to a all inclusive resort that has one menu for owners\timeshare and another for everyone else. A resort that has in-your-face special parties, shows, beach parties and close the outside bar for owners\timeshare. We have been to several resorts and have never been treated this way. I thought they did away with segregation in the sixties!!!!!!!!
We did get into Marco Polos one evening and there was six of us traveling together we wanted 1 table and was told that it was against there policy to put tables together so we had to separate into two tables of four and two. Well guess what? When a group of six people that were time- share owners came in right after us, they pushed two tables together. Hmmmm I guess we know who rules this resort. There is a color band system and if you had a yellow ones (owners) you were treated like Royalty. The pools are filled with hot water and not refreshing at all. The kiddy pool is never used; we went by it several times. But why would any kid use the kiddy pool when they have the main pool and they take over the pool bar. Hmmm. Bet it saves the resort a lot of MONEY on drinks. If you are lucky enough to get a seat at the pool bar that the children have taken over they just jump in the pool and splash around until you leave. We had to tell several children that they were not allowed in the adult pool. The sports bar the only place in the resort that the children didn't take over, closes at 11pm. Before the kiddy play room. The shows are geared toward the kids, this place is great if you have children and want to be treated like second class citizens, but if you are six adults looking for a good time this is not the place to go !!!!!!!!!!! It's not that we don't like children. We are parents and grandparents. We just feel that management needs to take a hard look at how this resort is being run and if they feel that it should be a time-share resort then, they should stop booking it for people who work hard all year for a week of fun in the sun." - Bonny & Jack from Pittsburgh, PA
