"Our family of four spent 7 days at the beautiful Riu Playacar. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The property was wonderfully maintained. Our rooms were very comfortable. The set up allowed for complete privacy between our two rooms. Very convenient. More like a suite instead of two separate rooms. The buffets were enjoyable with so many choices. The Playacar is a family friendly resort, not a spring break getaway. The Playa Del Carmen area is gorgeous with many activities and tours. I will recommend the Riu resorts to everyone."

"Oh my God. Don't really know what else to say, except it was the best holiday I've ever been on. Great and friendly staff who seemed to be there whenever you needed something, including the entertainment staff - who were lovely. Especially Omar who was working there at the time. They all really made my holiday special. Also it is in such a great location, short walk to Playa Del Carmen and short journeys in a cab to the different places to visit. Food was excellent. Which could be a downside as it seemed I was always eating, But oh well. I can't big it up enough. Recommended to all people. Cannot wait til I visit again." - Bobbie from New York City, N.Y.

"My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at this resort. The room was spotless and the grounds beautiful. We were fortunate to have a room with a view of the ocean. In fact we could see Cozumel across the way and the cruise ships anchored near there. The food was very good and there was a fantastic variety to suite everyones taste. The nightly entertainment was fun and often included audience participation. My favorite was when the entertainers got people out of the audience and danced with them... what fun!! The beach was great and there weren't any time-share hawkers anywhere in sight. The drinks were not watered down versions of what we are used to, but nice strong drinks, made exactly how you order them if you specify. Great place to stay. Great price. Overall excellent value." - Melissa from Kinde, Michigan

"My husband and myself and five other couples visited this resort and loved it!!! I said when we got home that I cant believe what a perfect relaxing and enjoyable time we all had. It is a small laid back sort of resort. Food was amazing, drinks were good. Great place and it was a great price."

"We had a great time at the resort!!!!!!!!! I can't say enough about the resort and the terrific staff. I would especially like to acknowledge Robert one of the front desk managers who is from Germany. What an incredible assest he is to the Riu playacar. He is very welcoming and cannot do enough to make your stay so relaxing and enjoyable. We needed umbrellas, he got them for us, we needed irons he got them for us, we needed to see all the different rooms and he made that a snap without hesitation and with a smile and a pleasant attitude always. You should clone him or do everything in your power to keep him with Riu Playacar!!!!! I had my birthday while staying in the Hotel and the staff without any notice of it from us did a wonderful celebration by leaving a decorated room and a fruit plate with a bottle of tequilla on the table with a note wishing me a happy birthday and a sealed note for my husband to see the Maitre d at the restuarant when we went for dinner. The staff came singing happy birthday bringing a lighted cake and waited till I blew out the candle and each personally greeted me one after the other.needless to say I was astounded and a little embarrased but very appreciative of all the effort they gave. Truly one of the best birthday's I will probably ever experience. Thank You,Thank You,Thank You. I cannot be more impressed with a resort." - Marilyn from Howell, N.J.
