"We stayed here 6/10-6/17, 2008 and loved it. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. We paid extra for the grand section and the black bracelets. Our rooms were kept in excellent condition. The food was great specially at the Tamayo international restaurant. We tipped our waiters and our bartenders and had our own cups because the ones served are small and they had our drinks ready as soon as they saw us coming. We couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. We have been to PV many times before and stayed at different hotels but i would say that Plaza Pelicanos is in our top two and we have stayed at expensive ones were the service is bad. I would disregard any of the other reviews but i will say - stay in the grand section it is more quiet and there are not police and it is nicer. The only down side to my visit here is that it rained a couple days but we still were in the pool and did things. The beach is rocky, but you can swim in it. We did and rode the banana ride. If you get a chance go to the Mandala Club and Hilo they are excellent. Also De Santos is a club restaurant owned by the MANA spanish rock band. Make reservations the food is excellent and the club is awesome met a lot of famous Spanish people there." - Karla from Souix City, Iowa

"I was terified on arrival as the first pool was full of diaper clad kids and drunken silly people. Walked across from the lobby and found 3 more pools.... I generally had the adult pool to myself or a few other folks. My room was clean, the beds a little brick, like but how much time do you spend in your room? Food was marginal but you need to remember you are in Mexico and if you want "American" food it's not their forte. The staff was friendly and helpful and the concierge Karen (I think) bent over backwards to help me. The activities staff were great and tried really hard to get me motivated to do stuff... did the kayak thing. Blew off the water fitness and volley ball. I guess I'm just not a team player. All in all, a great holiday for booking it the night before. Would I go back?...... probably. It's the people you meet and yourself that make or beak a holiday." - Andi from Calgary, Alberta, Canada

"A NIGHTMARE! Black Mold everywhere, beds are box spring and matress on the floor, there was a Big "Welcome Roach" in the room to greet us. Our balcony ocean-view was actually a view of an alley. The all-inclusive was about 7 dishes. If you wanted real food you had to pay in the resturant. I only saw one bar by the pool and the service was Terrible. We didn't stay. We went elsewhere and were promised a refund which we NEVER got. (Not really a surprise there.) Save yourself alot of grief and stay elsewhere." - Lora from Salt Lake City, Utah

"Overall it was OKAY. You usually have annoying neighbors at night and since the walls are thin. You could hear everything your neighbors were saying. Also to make matters worse there was human poop inside the large pool. The beach was small and rocky and swimming wasn't pleasant at all. I would say go to some other hotel." - Jose and Nohemi from Alexandria, Virginia
