The Playa Mazatlan Hotel is one of the original resorts. Built in 1954, it has been refurbished numerous times and is undergoing a new refurbishment now. The hotel is a true Mazatlan classic and has been kept up very nicely. The Hotel Playa Mazatlan is located right in the center of the hotel zone just north of the famous Malecon. This is one of the best three-star hotels in Mazatlan.

The Playa Mazatlan is a Mexican style beach resort offering hotel rooms and also one-bedroom family units with full kitchens. The hotel has three pools offering poolside cocktail and food service. The hotel has a small fitness center and spa for treatments and massage. The ocean-front hotel Playa Mazatlan is located on a nice stretch of the famous Playa Gaviotas Beach.

Note: Independent vendors offer beach horseback riding and para-sailing from the beach in front of the hotel. These are activities you undertake at your own risk. The Playa Mazatlan is a good choice for a three star central Mazatlan hotel.
