"By far, one of THE BEST Mexico vacation spots yet. The hotel/area was beautiful, the staff was friendly and courteous, and the food and accomodations were top notch. The surf averaged 4-5 foot the whole time we were there and the selections of surfboards that are free to guests were good enough for experienced surfers to enjoy many hours of longboarding fun. We felt safe the entire time and enjoyed many walks along the beach away from the hotel finding nice seashells and colorful rocks. The live music every afternoon at 8:30 was nice and the Palladium shows at 9:30 were very entertaining and featured a different show each night. We will definitely go back again soon."

"Experience: We have travelled to the Caribbean for 20 years once or twice each year...always all inclusive. Puerto Plata, Santo Domingo, Mayan Riviera, Cancun, Manzanillo and now Puerto Vallarta(never Cuba) Resort Too many stairs and ramps for most people. They get harder as the week goes on and your legs get tired of "climbing" constantly, every time you want a drink, bathroom, room, bar, food. Many of the stairs would never pass "code" in Canada as the rise and run of each step was much too big and irregular sizes. It was just a matter of time before somebody got hurt really badly at this resort and I am sure many were, during our stay. We saw many falls on patio stones and people with braces on their arms, legs and with canes. We are not sure if they came with these?? I slipped on a wet ceramic ramp once and hurt my back fairly badly. It is feeling better a week later now. The scenery was good at the shore and bay as Puerto Vallarta is. Pools: The main pool was ice cold and we didnít ever go into it. Foliage shade, loud crap music, crowds and hustle and bustle (screaming young adults) deterred us from that. The beach was lovely and the surf was a nice noise maker with its big wave roar. The adult pool was a little too warm and crowded. The bar was close but you had to fight through chaise lounges to get around them. It was a tiny round pool, like you would have in your own backyard. Very scenic as it had the infinity edge toward the beach / ocean...cool effect. Too small to actually swim or barely float. Food Food was the strong playing card here as they used a few BBQ grills for lunch in the main buffet, but went back to a grill surface for suppers????. It took quite a while to figure out you could get a steak or pork chop for lunch but mostly only steamed food for supper. We attended the beach BBQ one night but got there just as the sun went down, froze and ate cold food from the wind and wait from the line-ups. We had to turn our table as the flood lights were at our face level and blinded us so we couldnít see our plates. The ribs were too tough for a pork rib. By the time we returned from the buffet our coffee was totally cold. Need to wait until the lines are gone. The Italian restaurant was well done for the wedding, we attended, but we could never get into it again. The Mexican restaurant was the only one open on Sunday evening (most of the staff were gone home). The food was excellent but the service was terrible. We couldnít even land a second glass of water and ran out without anything to drink for the last three quarters of the meal. The desert platter was brought with over half of the selections gone and we refused picked over deserts. We had to ask a waiter to please serve us. Typical Mexico. One waiter to a table or they will fall down and hurt themselves getting mixed up with more than one)..not impressed. Oriental restaurant was excellent and the service we got was excellent!. The main item in the food here was the lack of experience of the waiters and cooks at the buffet and specialty restaurants. I doubt anybody with experience was that moronic...just lazy. When the managers pass through, suddenly four of them are asking if you want water or something else. Much of grill foods were raw and undercooked as one would precook burgers and the relief cook would hand it out off the side of the grill, raw and cold in the middle. Water Two drinking bottles per day were installed in your room fridge. Make sure you remove them each day or they do not replace them unless you pay!! (some all inclusive!) We had no water one day at all and had to go thirsty. Any other pillows than the puff ball ones are charged on a special "pillow menu". Hope you have no neck problems! Rooms This is an old resort and the rooms show it. You will have to carry around metal keys with a ring and a hard plastic tag that would barely fit in a pants pocket. PITA! The marble tiles are all crooked and cracked everywhere, bed fairly hard (added mattress pad foams, recently), cupboards too small for two peoples clothes to be shelved so you always have to dig under laundry to get anything clean or find gadgets you brought. Safes were good and easy to operate once a study of the combo system was made. Bathrooms were a disaster. Our sink was cracked in about 6-8 places, there was no strainer in the sink, so items dropped were gone, the hot water didnít work in most rooms so I turned on the valve, which pissed water all over the floor for the whole week. The tub shower head was below my chin and the tub leaked continuously so it always took another towel to mop up the 1-2" flood, every shower. (it wasnít coming out of the shower curtain cracks, either). It ran out the bathroom door LOL SMELL !! This resort has obviously not cared for its clientele one bit as the septic leaching beds would overflow every night when they did laundry. The smell was so bad it would wake us up each night about 3-4 AM to a septic smell that felt like it would choke you. My wife got a soar throat on the second last day and I got one and a fever two days after coming home. Some friends felt sick, also and one was throwing up at home. This smell would come and go throughout the day at times and it was hard to locate. This resort staff was well aware of this as one night in the bar the smell came strong and then the distinctive smell of womenís powdery perfume followed. A waitress or hotel staff walked through the bar. The perfume reappeared ,later, when she walked back again, so I knew it was coming from her to cover up the disgusting septic smell. This resort needs to act responsibly, after the Playa Del Carmen explosion from fumes, December 2010. Their septic was most likely sized for one building, originally and overloaded with another four buildings. RUN DOWN...RUN DOWN and poor maintenance Late checkout They do not offer a late checkout but if you want to stay later they offer you own room until 4 PM for $40, 6 PM for $60 and after 6 PM another nights stay price." - Larry from Owen Sound, Ontario

"I stayed at the Palladium in Puerta Vallarta with my Mom in the middle of December of this year. I thought it was great, the staff was very friendly and the food was great. I went to the disco and the beach parties with a few girls I had met that were also staying at the resort and it was alot of fun. The activity staff joined in the fun and all in all it was really enjoyable. I also really enjoyed the entertainment that was there, the shows everynight were great. I would recommend it to my friends and I WILL be going back next year!" - Amanda from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

"My family and I were in Nuevo Vallarta and staying at the Palladium for the first time. We were there for 7 days - the weather was great, the food was satisfactory and the service was not too bad. On our last evening there my 25 and 17 year old along with a friend decided to go to the "beach" party. They were out till about 2:30ish when all 3 returned to their individual rooms. The friend decided to go down to the sports bar for one more drink before calling it a night. He had had a couple of drinks but nothing more. He mistakenly went into the wrong building, onto the wrong floor and tried getting into what he thought was his room. His key did not fit but the door was partially ajar so he walked in only to be assaulted with a broken bottle. Once the occupant realized that it was not a break in,he apologized and mentioned to our friend that the night prior their room had been robbed and he thought that the perpetrator had returned. In the meantime security had been called and responded. Security escorted our friend back to his room where they ransacked it looking for who knows what. They then asked him for all of his money or they would call the Mexican police. My friend gave him his last $20 dollars so they left with money in hand in his spare room key. When he reported the incident to the front desk supervisor he was not well received. The next day was our last day and we were required to pay an additional $25.00 for the missing key which had not been turned in by security. I would like to make travellers aware of some of the things that do happen even if you are not looking for trouble. To my surprise my friend would still return to Mexico, but a little wiser. Myself I have been to Mexico numerous times and have never had such an experience. I too will be more cautious next time if there is a next time." - Rachelle from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

"We had an amazing time! The Palladium was 5-Star from the moment we checked in to the moment we left. The staff were always helpful and the concierge were fantastic. We stayed in the Royal Suites(which was always clean, mini bar stocked with beer and water and it was great soaking in the huge tub) we could not have asked for more. The restaurants were always excellent, but the BBQ on the beach was the best! The grounds and pool area on the adult side were always in immaculate condition. I loved walking around the resort, there was always so much to see. I would recommend the Palladium to fit, active people. There are so many bad reviews about the stairs and walking, exercise will not kill you! My only complaint would be the beach it was pretty rocky and the waves were a little to wild for my tastes. I guess I need to learn to surf. We took a bus into Bucerias a couple times to check out the market and to explore, it was cheap but the drivers are all crazy...we white knuckeled it the whole way! It was so much fun. *Reminder* sunscreen is a must, I burned to a crisp on our whale watching tour. I would recommend the Palladium to anyone (AS LONG AS YOU STAY IN THE ROYAL SUITES) upgrade and you will not regret it. " - Carla from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

"It was my first time in Mexico and the resort was fantastic, awesome, amazing. Eeverything was wonderfull. The staff was so friendly and helpful and I like the idea that it has security so the people selling time-shares can't enter the resort due to bad experience my friends had. The fact that you can choose a different restuarant to eat everynight and the food was excellent. The activities I enjoyed tremendously because I like to exercise and the staff that gives the activities were outstanding. The shows were was breathtaking. I want to bring my family next year April to share the wonderful time I experienced. The zoo in the resort was a surprise. The barbeque on the beach was my favourite. And the aqafit- thanks peppi. I love you all and keep the good work rolling. I told everybody in Vancouver about the blast I had and will go back anytime." - Veronica from Vancouver, B.C.

"We really loved the resort, but would have enjoyed more beach to walk along. This one is quite rocky, so you can't go too far in either direction. The place is quite far from "The Action" which will be a consideration for some. Also, lots of stairs to climb which could pose a problem for some. I would recommend this resort for a family with younger children or for those who just want to really unwind and not do too much of anything except enjoy the sun, water, and fabulous food and drink." - Valerie from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada

I spent a lot of money and had to complain from the moment I got there to the moment I left - they just dont care! Really bad communications. They don't really tell you the rules until they have to enforce them, hours of the pool, dress code for restaurant, their restaurant reservation policy, on and on. Lights went out at night for four hours, water went out of 8 hours . . .terrible. Don't let the web site fool you. Yes its beautiful, but not worth the frustration." - Nestor from Los Angeles
