Here is our Ohana Waikiki West Review:
The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel is our favorite moderate hotel in the Waikiki area. It is located directly behind the Famous International Marketplace. The Wakiki West Hotel is part of the Outrigger Hawaii Hotel chain which is know for their very comfortable hotels in Hawaii. Although the Waikiki West Hotel is 3 blocks to the beach, the walk is short and right through central Waikiki. It has a nice 2nd floor pool with a food and beverage pool bar. The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel has a couple of restaurants, including a very popular Chili's. The rooms are decent sized and nicely appointed, but basic.
FYI: The least expensive rooms at The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel are "no-view" overlooking the backside alley, so if the view counts to you, request city view room category.
Facilities:
633 Rooms, 18 Stories, 2nd floor Pool, Jacuzzi, Pool Bar, Shopping, Chili's Restaurant, Patisserie Bakery, Parking Available

Remarks:
"We have stayed at the Ohana Waikiki West 5 times now and we love it. The first time we stayed there was when we got married on Oahu in 1986. Many upgrades have been made since those days. Great rooms, awesome staff and a perfect size pool. In the hub of Waikiki so everything is in walking distance. The beach is only a short walk. We will be staying here again for sure." - Joe from Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada

Remarks:
"We decided to book this hotel based on the price. It was within our range and judging by the virtial tour seemed like a really nice deal. Dont be fooled by the pictures. They must have picked the only room in the hotel that nobody ever stayed in. Our room was nothing like the one pictured. There were dirty handprints on the walls, scuff marks on the walls and handprints on the sliding glass doors as if it handt been cleaned from the last people. There was mold growing around the air vents and bathroom door. The bathroom was very small but exceptable for the use. We never could figure out how to program the in room safe so we couldnt use it. There were only three elevators for 17 floors of guests. The wait got pretty long at times. We actually used the stairs a few times to save on time. The first few days we were there the pool was pretty couldy, never did go down there. The nice thing about staying here was that it is very nicely located close to pretty much everything. The bus route is right there along with the trolley. We never had any trouble locating anything for the most part and the beach was very close. We didnt spend much time in the room except for sleeping and showering, so we didnt try to change hotels or cause too much fuss. I did feel however, that it is only right to let anyone else considering this place know the real skinny. When I go back to visit again I will not stay here unless they upgrade the standard and clean things up a bit." - Cathy from Tularosa, New Mexico

Remarks:
"The staff was friendly and helpfull. The rooms were a bit small but we were not there to spend alot of time in our room. We did not have a ocean view room, but again we did not spend alot of time at the hotel. We were within walking distance to every where we needed to go. The elevators were always very busy and a bit slow. We enjoyed the view from the roof top bar as well as the food and drinks. I would recommend this hotel to others."

"Thank you to all the staff, we had a fantastic time, it was like home from home with the friendliness. The only thing wrong was the foisty smell, but we bought an air fragrance for the room, problem solved,. Our freinds stayed at the mona surfrider sherridan, the same time as we stayed at the ohana wakiki west and ours was a thousand times more friendly and homely. We were central for everything, thank you again to all the staff and we will definetly be back " - Christine and David, from England

"This hotel was great, very low price but very nice. We arrived after we had booked a simple saver room, when we checked in, they immediatley upgrated us to a kitchette ocean view room, it was absolutely beautiful. The staff were very helpful, the elevators are a bit slow, but the overall was perfect. We would definatley stay here again!"

"The Ohana West is a descent place to stay, with average rooms and good service. I would recommend the Ohana West if money is an issue and kids are traveling along. The bar and pool area was wonderful; it was a place to go at night without having to leave the hotel and worry about transportation.!" Alex, from San Jose, Calif
