Remarks:
"I was very disappointed and embarassed as a result of numerous negative experiences from the beginning to the end of our stay. Upon arrival, there was no greeting, just basic check-in. No manual in our room on how to use the phone or directory of local phone no. Our room's electrical was not working appropriately which meant the lighting was not consistent, tv would flicker on and off from time to time, the air conditioning did not work; there was a nasty odor in our room right from the get go; the flooring had a fine layer of crusted dirt and sand; the mirrors in the bathroom and front closet were dirty and smudged; the bedding was soiled- pillow case and fitted sheet stained; the tub in the bathroom was chipping- ended up with a minor cut to the foot; room service would come in and not always provide with clean towels or two rolls of toilet paper- a back up is nice when the pepto isnt kicking in; had little wormies that came up into the sink in the morning while trying to wash my face with the running tap water; the food was as nasty as it gets- they laid out the raw meat beside the cooked meat and other prepared foods; the dinning area was not air conditioned so the food-dairy, etc. was sweaty- that did not turn my stomach as much as the number of flies I had to fight to stay off my plate; the resort needs more staff in the dining area- during the 2 week stay we were only offered coffee with our breakfast a total of 2 times. The resort staff related to us visitors with little respect, with the exception of 4 employees; I needed a small load of laundry done- $80 USD later! Detailed cleaning was obviously an issue in this resort as one of the canvas paintings in our room was coated with a white creamy substance which appeared to be a form of human excretion. The one night I had come in later from the bar, 3am, and ran into a father in tears in the elevator. He informed me that it was his first night and that his wife and childrens belongings were soaking wet as the ceiling caved in from a water leak. He indicated that the resort staff were not so sympathetic. Spent a lot of money eating off resort. The resort was packed full with young people, so if you are not open to a loud decible level every morning at 4am or young kids chanting "Pablo" repeatedly outside your room- dont visit this resort. The beach is not cleaned regularly either. I weighed myself and I lost 12lbs in the 2 weeks at this resort." - Sarah from Barrie, Ontario, Canada

"Worst service ever. Everyone from the people who take pictures with the parrot and monkey robbed us for our money, to the GoGo Tours and Olympus people who did not pick us up for the return to the airport. The rooms were dirty, sheets were not changed even though we asked. The bathroom wase not cleaned until the last day. I guess for the next people who were I guess coming to the room after we checked out. Do your research with the people you book your trips. They are all thieves and expect a tip even for telling you where is the bathroom." - Cynthia from New York City, NY

What Was Your Experience at the resort?

"We stayed at Oasis Cancun from Apr 11 - 18, 2008. I dont know why some people are giving the hotel a bad rap. We love the Resort. Pool is awesome, beach is great. Staff are very helpful. My boys (10yrs and 7yrs) had so much fun in our vacation. The hotel is old, but they keep it in shape and clean. The restaurants are fantastic and the drinks are everywhere. Our room got cleaned everysingle day. AC worked fine. They had shows on most nights. And the Graffiti Boys were great. Security is everywhere so we felt really safe. Come on, for the price we paid -- I'd definitely say our stay at the Oasis was worth it. We didn't have to wait in our buffet trips. The ala-carte restaurants, we did wait at an average of 15 min, which isn't bad. My tip: don't go there on spring break (we didn't), coz I can imagine the resort getting real busy, and waiting in line to eat might be a challenge. And the tipping of the staff, when we got there, their rep specifically told us we don't have to tip them. And honestly we didn't, but we still got very good service all around. But on our last day, since we still have some Mexican pesos, we just gave them to the staff we normally see. So there you go, enjoy!" - James from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

What Was Your Experience at the resort?

"This place was a nightmare, from the beginning to the end. The front desk staff was rude and annoyed, the place was overbooked and took forever to check in, no air conditioning in the lobby or anywhere else for that matter. The room was not ready and the air did not work, only 1 elevator worked and was constantly packed. The restaurant selection was minimal as they were always full, with hours to wait to get in. Some of the restaurant closed down, you could not even wait. The pool was HOT, no place to cool down. I cant even imagine the germs! I would never stay again, dirty, moldy, noisy drunk kids, lots of underage drinking and puking. The food was so gross I cant even name the meat! Never again!"

"Everything was very clean and tidy, from the restaurants to the pool to the beach, it was perfect. This hotel and resort met and exceeded my expectations! The staff at the Oasis Playa Cancun were friendly, warm and very hospitable - this certainly contributed a great deal to the enjoyment we got out of this holiday! My partner and I visited the Tulum Mayan clifftop ruins and Xel-Ha conservation park in the same day - breathtaking. We also took a lazy catamaran journey to Isla Mujures (sp?), where we snorkelled, and in the afternoon we experienced the magic of the Royal Swim dolphin experience. Unbelievable, it was amazing. We had an evening out on the Captain Hook's pirate adventure and got very drunk and had a roaring laugh of an eveing, absolutely brilliant, and went on the speedboat jungle tour through the lagoon out to the coral reef to snorkel, and also just sunbathed on the pritine beach and round the pool. A fantastic, dream holiday." - Elizabeth, from Glouscester, England

What Was Your Experience at the resort?

"I was extremely disatisfied with my experience at the hotel. Our toilet in the room leaked and out air conditioner did not work. We called for 2 days to move to a different room and were finally moved at 2 AM. We got locked in the room one day because the door became stuck. We called down to the front desk 5 times before help came up to pound our door in and then saw part of it off to get it to close. We were told there would be stuff to do at night and instead the only thing to do was go to other bars that we had to pay admission and sometimes drinks. Your web site said there was nightlife stuff included. I feel that the money spend could have gone a long way in the States. Unfortunately the only comments I have on my experience at the Oasis will be negative. " - Melissa, from St. Louis, Mo

What Was Your Experience at the resort?

"Well I have to say I read many reviews of this resort a few days before I left and most were bad reviews and almost everything mentioned in these bad reviews came true for me and the rest of my party. I traveled with five groups all including couples, small children, teenagers, and singles. We were promised rooms adjacent to each other but that didn't happen. The room didn't close or lock when me and my mother got to it, it just pushed open. It took 3 hours to get someone to fix it even after numerous calls and when they did arrive the couldn't fix it so we were sent to another room that smelled of mildew/mold, the shower had cockroaches, silver fish, and other small insects, and the phone was broken. With the other people we went there with they didn't have blankets on the bed, tv's, hairdryers, or phones (all of hich were promised). Many of the restaurants foods were just disgusting but we found one that was alright but took a couple days. The service people try to be friendly but for many that was not true. The pool is very warm and on the shallow ends has a yellow film on it that looks like urine. The floor is marble in every place inside but with the humidity and multiple leaks in the ceiling it makes for some dangerous falls on a hard floor. The Hosptality Desk was interesting watch out for them we had a representative who worked for pleasant holidays whose only job was to check flight times, get transportation for you to the airport, and make sure any problems of the hotel were handled however he got upset with us because we refused to book a tour through him or sign up for a fake timeshare and said we would have no transportation because of it and said that we had no proof of our problems so we were not allowed to complain to the agency even though we filed it at the front desk. The only good thing about this resort was the beach it was very beautiful.. " - Carissa, from Corna, Calif
