There are plenty of great Mazatlan activities to have fun doing. One of the great things Mazatlan offers are wide Pacific Ocean Beaches that people really love.
Here are a few of our favorite Things To Do in Mazatlan
Mazatlan Sunset Taken from the Malecon
Stroll the Malecon - A tradition in Mexican Beach towns is the Malecon which is an ocean-front promenade that extends 2 or 3 miles in length. The Malecon in Mazatlan is one of the largest in Mexico. It offers beautiful views of the Bay and Deer Island and provides a picturesque backdrop for a stroll along the many restaurants, night clubs and shopping. The Mazatlan Malecon is the place to see and be seen.
Mazatlan Beach Horseback Riding - One of the great things to do in Mazatlan is beach horseback riding. The vendors will have their horses right at the main hotels to rent to go beach horseback riding. Enjoy a morning or afternoon of horseback riding on the beach.
Blue Agave Tequila Tour - Take a tour of the famous La Vinata Tequila Factory east of Mazatlan. Then go to a restaurant for e meal and more Tequila. A good time is had by all!
Deer Island Mazatlan
Deer Island - Deer Island is located about a a mile and one-half from the Golden Hotel Zone. This unpopulated island is great for swimming, sunning and exploring. Most of the tours will provide lunch buffets of burritos, beans, beers and sodas. This will be one of the highlights of your Mazatlan vacation. A day at Deer Island is tons of fun and highly recommended.
Go Fishing - There are many boats in the Marina Mazatlan that provide tourists with a day of fishing. Boats provide a bilingual crew, bait, tackle. Most have food and drinks available for purchase.
Best Mazatlan Beaches
Playa Gaviotas - This Mazatlan beach is located just north of the Malecon at the Playa Mazatlan Hotel. A nice wide beach with good surf, great for sunning and swimming. However, their are quite a few vendors that prowl the beach hounding tourists to purchase their souvenirs.
Playa Olas Atlas - The beach along the famous Malecon in Downtown Mazatlan. This beach can have high surf and not real good for swimming. Instead, watch the surfers. Not real good for sunning either as the beach is narrow and full of rocks. But offers a great promenade to stroll and take in the great ocean views.
Playa Sabalo - This popular, wide sandy beach would be perfect for relaxing and sunning, if were not for all the vendors. They will hound you until you leave.
Playa Norte - Located a few miles north at Punta Camaron. Lot's of locals will show up and have BBQ's and ball games. Playa Norte is also known as a Mazatlan Nude Beach, however this is mostly restricted to the northern point where a few nude sunbathers will gather.
