Keauhou Beach Resort has now closed.
The owner of the Keauhou Beach Resort has announced it plans to close the resort October 31, 2012. "This hotel has been a place of rest and play for so many people in its past 40 years", CEO Dee Jay Mailer said in a statement. "Despite the good work of many committed and talented people, financial losses at the hotel over the last six years have been substantial. To return the Keauhou Beach to possibly compete in the Kailua-Kona hotel market would take tens of millions in further investment that would be very difficult to recover."

The Keauhou Beach Resort is one of the better values on the Big Island. We rate is at 4- stars. It has 311 rooms, a nice pool area, a kids pool and restaurants. The bar has live music nightly. Tennis is real big here, as the hotel has 6 lighted tennis courts. The Keauhou Beach Resort is ocean front, but on a rocky coast so no beach area. However, the rocky reef areas make for great snorkeling! The Keauhou Beach Resort is a great choice for a moderate hotel in Kona.
Facilities:
311 Rooms, 6 Floors, Air-Conditioning, 2 Pools, Jacuzzi, 2 Restaurants & Bar, 6 Lighted Tennis Courts, Exercise Room, BBQ's.
