Here's our Kaanapali Beach Club Review
The Kaanapali Beach Club (formerly the popular Embassy Suites Maui) is now a time-share resort. They offer a few rooms for general reservations, primarily to present the property to prospective time-share buyers like you. The Kaanapali Beach Club offers 1 bedroom mini-suite accommodations. The comfort of the units is the attraction. The rooms have separate bedrooms, large screen entertainment centers, wet-bar, and microwave ovens. The pool is a big attraction of the resorts. The huge pool has a fun water slide which is fun for the kids.
The Kaanapali Beach Club is currently updating the units for private ownership, so contruction is taking place. The transition has been somewhat smooth, however certain aspects of the operations still need to be worked out.
Facilities:
413 mini-suites, 12 Floors, Air conditioning, 1 Acre Pool, Jacuzzi, Restaurant & Bar, Exercise Room, Sauna
This is a time-share resort. You will receive the "pitch" for ownership

"Stayed there previously years ago and had a wonderful time so we decided to do the time share presentation this year when we went to Maui. I will never ever purchase a time share there. They no longer serve breakfast. Time-share people thought we were perfect candidates for a time-share and refused to let us leave, even after I told them repeatedly that I wanted to think about whether to purchase and where. It felt as if we were falsely imprisoned. The sad thing for them is that we will purchase somewhere eventually, but not with them. Before we were finally released by the time-share people, the manager of the time-share presentation was so rude to us it was unbelievable. " - Mary from Fresno, Calif.

"As long-time timeshare owners at the KBC, we could not help but notice how things have rapidly gone downhill since Diamond Resorts took over. This website lists the KBC as having 5 restaurants (boxed area above the reviews) and then 2 restaurants further on down, in the narrative describing the resort. In reality, there is only 1 and it is a fast food, snack bar type grill. Diamond has done away with the amenities that made this a "gold crown" resort since they took over. First off, they stopped the manager's cocktail reception (free drinks from 4 to 6 pm every evening) as well as the breakfast buffet. This year they did away with the on-site restaurant which is closed and boarded up. In addition, the management has seen fit to do away with the maids daily pick-up of the trash/garbage in the rooms. As a result, guests bag or box it up and deposit in the hallways. Tacky, real tacky for a "class" resort. Our stay this March was marred by a FLEA INFESTATION in our room. We found several rather large fleas crawling on us as we sat on the furniture and they were also found on the drapes. We brought the problem to the attention of the front desk and was advised that the room would be "treated" during our stay. This never happened. Nothing was ever done and we continued finding fleas throughout the remainder of our stay. In a phone call response to a letter I wrote to the CEO, an employee in the corporate offices advised that what I found in our room were "seasonal fruitflies" and not fleas. Needless to say, I had nothing more to say to her after she had just insulted my intelligence by telling me that I didn't know the difference between a flea and a fruitfly! It is obvious to me that Diamond Resorts is more interested in their net profit than providing good accommodations as well as good customer service. FYI: The one and only swimming pool at the resort will be shut down for repairs beginning April 20, 2009, for at least 2 months." - Frank from Elk Grove, Calif.

"We loved this resort! Very friendly and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast was included, and was delicious. Huge variety and custom made omlets. Cover your food with a napkin if you get up from the table, the little sparrows fly in and eat your breakfast otherwise! I loved it! We saw whale spouts from the restaurant and rainbows many times. The pool is wonderful, the lounges have cushions! The suites are so large, and its great having a bedroom separate from the living area. There was a large plasma tv in each room too. Each room has a glass door leading to the patio. We loved the full-sizes refrigerator, sink, microwave, etc. The grocery across the street is convenient and nice for buying drinks, ice cream, etc. The snack bar by the pool is great also. We could get a kids cheesburger and fries for $2.00! And it was a good juicy cooked to order burger too." - Lane from Seattle, Washington
