Here's our Islander on the Beach Kauai Review
The Islander on the Beach Kauai is a low-rise Plantation Style Resort. The 200 rooms all have air-conditioning. The resort has a pool, bar and restaurant. The Islander on the Beach is one of the better budget style accommodations on Kauai. A recent renovation has made this a really nice value. The hotel is situated on Coconut beach which can get windy at times. The Islander on the Beach is a very poplular budget hotel and has a loyal following of budget minded travelers.

"The pool water was dirty! The older lady (at the bar) Was not very friendly. When we asked for a recommendation on drinks she handed us the list. Came back a second time and didn't even get a you're welcome :( she said that she checks identifications depending on who and where they are from! Not fair! Go across the street to Whalers General Store if you want alcohol. Other than the pool and bar service this place was amazing!"- Pete from Boise, Idaho

"I absolutely love...love...love...love..love...love Kauai Islander on the Beach! I have stayed here over 6 times and it is always an excellent experiece! The renovation on the rooms are awesome! you feel like you are at a REALLY expensive hotel! They now have the mini fridge, sink and microwave (at least in the room that i stayed in. Staff is always friendly! I was there alone on a business trip and always felt safe! The beach can be a bit rough at times, but its not the hotels fault! And it is very close to the airport Kapaa, Hanelei and anywhere you want to go. Make sure you are a light packer, because the only downside is that there are no elevators (it is only 3 floors, so it is not a big deal). but other than that.... I LOVE IT!
