"A Room with a view"

Remarks:
"I recently stayed at the Iberostar Cancun with my family (formerly a Hilton property that was converted in late 2011). The Iberostar Cancun is a beautiful, well-maintained resort property with a full conference center that handles approximately 2,000 attendees. Rooms ranged from a standard room up to suites and villas for families. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort for families, honeymooners/vow renewal, golfers, and business/tradeshow purposes. Everything was extremely clean, service was well-done from check-in to the wait staff. Any needs were promptly handled by Guest Services. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of lines/silverware/serving areas of the buffet--best Ive seen at any all-inclusive (including Dreams and RIU). All food was prepared well and presented nicely. My only disappointment regarding the food was the lack of variety from day to day, but you were always able to get steak, chicken, pasta bar, taco salad bar, and a seafood option.

Room...modern, light and bright. Beige walls with turquoise bedding and curtains as shown on their website and in advertising. Decorative towel arrangement with rose petals was on the bed upon arrival. We stayed in a standard room with French balcony overlooking the ocean (6th floor). The king-size bed was comfortable, room was air-conditioned with a sitting area and desk, flat-screen TV, large closet with electronic safe, mini-bar replenished daily. The room was large enough to add a rollaway bed for our son. The bathroom area included a single sink with plentiful counter/storage space outside a bathroom with toilet and tub/shower unit. Of note, if you have clients who would have difficulty stepping into a tub, standing on an uneven surface while showering, would have trouble bending around the fixed shower door to reach the faucets, or may easily slip on wet tile, I would strongly recommend you upgrade your client to a suite that has a walk-in shower. This set-up of a glass partition on only half the tub/shower unit meant you had to direct the faucet straight down to avoid splashing water out of the shower. Because the glass didn't slide and was permanently afixed, you had to really lean around it to reach the faucets. Fortunately, there was a grab bar on the opposite wall that you could hold onto while you reached for the faucets. Just be aware of this problem for your potential clients.

Pool area was beautifully landscaped. One large multi-leveled pool with an infinity pool overlooking the immaculate beach. There were plenty of loungers and palapas for shade. Guests are issued towel cards at check-in. The pool also had a waterpark area for the kids that would be a great selling point for families traveling with young children. A pirate ship with slides, mushroom-shaped waterfall, and another unit with two slides. My 7-year old son had a blast in the waterpark area. Adjacent to the pool and waterpark is the Star Friends kids club. Nice-sized, brightly colored, air-conditioned playroom had plenty of activities for kids with time also allowed to play in the pool or on the beach each day. The club opens at 10am and remains open until 4:45pm. Children are taken to the buffet for lunch. In the evening the kids are able to rejoin the club around 8pm to dance/sing in the theater before the nightly entertainment program begins. My son really enjoyed the kids club and the variety of daily activities.

Beach...well-maintained, plenty of loungers/palapas, no palm trees, large--plenty of room for playing in the sand, taking walks. White powdery sand with turquoise water. Other resort amenities included a full-service spa, exercise facility, Iberostar-owned golf course across the street, conference center/banquet facilities, and numerous dining/bar venues.

Overall I feel this is a top-notch resort to recommend to any of your clients, and I wouldn't hesitate to return with my own family in the future. I would recommend you contact the Sales and Marketing gal, Gabriela Sanchez, for any additional information and/or photos of the resort. She graciously shared her time to tour me around the resort during my stay, and she was very helpful at answering questions before we arrived. Very nice resort."
