The Hawaiian Monarch is clearly a budget Waikiki Hotel. As long as you understand this is two star accommodations, the hotel is actually better than you would think. One of the major factors of why the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel is reasonably priced because it's a long 3 block walk to the beach and central Waikiki. It has a decent sized lobby, a sports bar and restaurant. The Hawaiian Monarch Hotel also has a 2 floor pool. The hotel offers parking, but for a typical Waikiki extra-charge. The rooms are small and bery basic "motel" style appointments. If you are looking to keep costs down and are willing to walk, The Hawaiian Monarch Hotel might be a good choice.
