"What make a resort exceptional is the staff, managers, administration, owners. This Management/Owner/Staff has no integrity, no honesty, no character, the sales staff for the timeshare at Ocean Coral and Turquesa are SCAMers as many reviews tell their story. They start of real nice, giving you cash $100, then you go to their distant "paradise", getting you away from the rest of the public. They sit you down and give you the "deal that sounds real good" on yellow pad paper and promise you "xyz" guaranteed for 15 years, with no annual fee. We got promised a free all inclusive week and 2 weeks of studio week free (not all inclusive), kids up to 12 are free, 20,000 RCI points and no maintenance fee for $7,000 for 15 years. We paid upfront. Sound good right. Until you use the contract. We used our free all inclusive week for 2011, but had to pay for the 8 year old which was 1/2 price. Ok fine. We just tried to use the free all inclusive for 2012, 1 week ago and were told "oh, it was only a one time deal of the 15 years term". YET, the contract states PER YEAR. And have to pay for the 9 year old again. So we try contacting customer service through contact us - NO REPLY after 1 week. I call and thats only a "reservation line", we have to email board.sales@h10permium.com to have someone call us back - because the sales department "has no contact line" - No reply yet, 3 days later. Called again - told we just have to wait for their reply - and other reviews states they never call, so lets see. The sales staff at Ocean Coral, specifically "Lalo", "Kayleigh" - manager, and their so called "attorney" "Irma" are pulling this scam daily on foreigners. Because only Mexican Citizens can own real estate in Mexico. You have no recourse on time-shares. FYI the sales staff does rotate with the other H10 resort - Ocean Blue a few miles away - BE AWARE."

"What a fantastic experience! This resorts offers everything and you really don't need to look elsewhere for food, drinks or even entertainment. We arrived home today after a fabulous week! The rooms are clean and spacious with the fridge stocked daily. More tasty food than anyone could ever eat. No need to fear of an empty glass as they are constantly asking you if you want more. The beach is cleaned several times a day of seaweed. You do need to get to poolside or the beach early in the morning to get your lounger for the day. Everything is extremely neat and clean with a "make you feel at home feeling." So friendly and helpful! Been home just over 12 hours and really ready to return. "Do not be fooled by this hotel chain. They call themselves 4-star, but that is definitely self proclaimed. They are four stars if the highest rating is 24 stars. The food was about as mediocre as you could get. Everything was pre-packaged and processed. They deep fried everything possible and left it out under a heat lamp. The gourmet Italian restaurant served food was comprable to Chef Boyardee. I have had better lasagne from the frozen food section of my local grocer. Ordering food from room service proved to be just as pathetic. The pizza delivered to my room was the same pizza that was served out of a "pizza warming box" located at the poolside snack bar. I saw the hamburgers pulled from freezer wrapping and put on the grill. The quality of the meat was way below McDonalds. A frozen daqueri was made with strawberry flavored sugar water mixed with crushed ice. Do not make the same mistake that we did by reading H10s promotional reviews." - Victor from Missouri

"We had a great vacation. The staff was friendly, food and service was great. The only complaint was that everyone "reserved" their chair by the pool/beach by putting a towel on it very early in the morning and we had a hard time locating chairs to use. The hotel is trying to sell their "priviledge" program which entitles you to their exclusive beach area which had lots of chairs so it is probably just a marketing ploy to try to sell the upgrade. The other thing that was odd was that you couldn't reserve for the other restaurants, you had to wait in line, but again if you bought the upgrade package you were guaranteed seating so it seems that their priority was to sell upgrade packages, but other than those 2 minor issues the place was fabulous!" - Lezlie from Guelph, Ontario

"By far the worst ever! After waiting in an un-airconditioned lobby for about an hour to check-in, you have hotel workers bugging you to do a tour of the hotel... Don't do it! We knew better! Then we had trouble finding our room which we requested a ocean-view or pool-view...we had a nice view of the bushes! The food was absolutely horrible, couldn't even cook American food! Took forever for the cleaning lady to clean our room each day and once we were locked out because we left a few bucks on the dresser and secuirty went in our room and felt it was a security issue?????? Like wtf! Everytime we ordered room service they never got it right! The beach was very dirty! No one went in the water, well if you could get past the first 50 feet of seaweed and trash it wasn't too bad! Very booring at the resort no activiities at all. "Awful! Waited over an hour to check-in, then room wasn't ready so waited another 20 mins for our room. We where then handed our room key and told "walk that way and turn left" took us another 35-45 mins to find our room! The room was not what we paid for through our travel agent. The tub was broke and the view was of the run down tennis court. We paid for "upgrade privilege" which is a joke. Told us we where to have breakfast with them and then we'd get a tour of the privileged areas and it should take an hour. Well almost 3-hours later, a tour guide who is taking shots of Tequila and them trying to sell us a vacation package and then getting upset because we where not interested in what they where selling and wanted to enjoy what was left of our 2 day vacation we had. They finally upgraded our room after us complaining about it. Told us to pack up our stuff and they would transfer everything over to our new room in a few hours, went to town left at 11am got back at 4pm and they tell us we can't get to our room for another 1.5 hours! Asked where are bags where and if we could get to them to be able to change clothes we where told wed have no access to them until we got our room! We also had a bottle of Tequila we where saving that was to be moved to our new room. Guess what? It went missing. Never saw it again and they never apologized for it! I can't not stress enough how awful this hotel is and how rude there management is. I read all the bad reviews but decided to go with an open mind. Now I wish I would have listened. "It's a wonderful place to stay but they keep bugging you to go to a time-share presentation (claiming it is a tour of the hotel). I thought it was a great deal until I bought and realized everything they told me was a lie. Including: - The great suite they promise you isn't available at all. - The reservations can only be made at the last minute (LESS than 30 days before your trip); - The weeks you are supposed to be able to sell for 500$ are not for real, you can't give them away; - The all-inclusive is only for 2 people. So if you bring your kids, they have to pay; - The all-inclusive price list they show you is already discounted by the 50%, so you pay twice what you were told. - It takes forever to get a response from the customer service office, to make a reservation or a complaint... And try to get justice in Mexico all the way from Canada! It's a shame they are starting off that way, its such a nice place. It does need some adjustments, but it could be awesome. "We were at the resort for 2 weeks and it was fantastic. I am a very picky eater and the food was amazing. You can find anything and everything and if you are not happy with one restaurant you can go to the next. It is extremely clean and the workers are the friendliest, happiest, helpful people I have ever met. There is always something to do if you want to ...beach volleyball, soccer, water aerobics... I never gained a pound in 2 weeks cause we kept busy yet relaxed and enjoyed the sun. My daughter 10, met lots of kids and has asked me everyday when we are going back. It's very secure. My daughter would go have breakfast, lunch by herself and there was not a worry in my mind. Paulo was a lot of fun and very helpful and Alex was a sweetheart who would try to speak a bit of english. It does help and it is polite if you know a few words. We went to Coba for 1 full day which was fun and did some shopping at Playa del Carmen. Some stores will not barter at all!! We swam with the Dolphins which was quite expensive and also did some scuba diving. Don't worry about some of the reviews. Everything was great and if I could, Id go back tomorrow. "My family and I went for two weeks and we travel a lot, but this was by far the best place we ever stayed. It was always clean, beatuiful and a great time. There was always something to do. The New Years Eve party was great. There was a stage and a dance floor right on the beach. There was always dancing and singing. I also loved how there were so many Italians and they're so entertaining. They are all very nice and great. I would go back there in a second. Even the food was great. Our rooms were so beautiful you could see the beach from pretty much every room. I could stay at the resort for 2 weeks without leaving and not get board. All their pools are different and very nice. "We stayed for 1 week at this resort. The staff were great, couldn't ask for better. The room was musty but a great location from the kids pool, the lobby and beach. Unfortunately both our kids got very sick 2 days into our stay for 3 days out of the week. The hotel doctor was great and unfortunately for us we had to deal with him in the first place. The bank machine in the hotel was out of order all three times we needed it. I took a taxi to te next town to their bank machine which was only $9.00 each way so it was not a big deal. "It is a beautiful resort, but the restaurants were understaffed especially in the buffet. Although our room was beautiful, it was extremely damp. It felt as if sheets were put on directly from the washer and never dried. By the end of the week , our clothes and luggage were wet and started to smell. Lying in bed was torture and the pillows smelled moldy. We noticed mold growing near the air conditioner vent. Other people had the same problems. We would only go back if we knew this was corrected. "It is an absolutely beautiful place, we loved every minute of it! Food is great, lots of variety. The beach is right by the hotel and very nice, clean and not packed. Pools are really good too. I never like to get up early, but when I was there I would get up at 6 in the morning! A great place for a couple or a family vacation. I went with my boyfriend and both of us really enjoyed it; we used to go every day to this little cafe and that was fun. "This H10 property is new. Having just opened in Dec 07. So we knew to extend some latitude. My husband and I enjoy lazy days at the pool or sightseeing, then we like to dress up a bit to enjoy a nice evening meal. We make it a point to have a good time anywhere we go and,in fact,we ended up having a great vacation here as well. We did, however, have to work harder at it this time around...Good things at this property include a long, safe beach for walking (about 4 miles to Puerto Morelos, a small quaint village), nice staff, generous drinks, nice coffee bars, a great outdoor restaurant for snacks and lunch, ample pools w/lounges. People were working hard the entire week we were there doing plantings and adding elevators. While theres little shade now, there will be soon as the plantings take hold. Theres a not much publicized free bus to the shopping mall in Cancun; otherwise this property is pretty isolated. On the downside, although time-share pitches are barred from the property, theres an extremely offensive H10 membership pitch (cost $40,000 US). We also found there are just not enough good restaurants, and the ones they do have are insufficient in size/capacity. The buffetis actually like a cafeteria with little variation in fare every day. For example, one evening, we were at the Italian restaurant at 5:45 for 6:30 opening. We were about 10th in line, but all seatings (at 6:30, 8:00 and 9:15) were full by the time we got to the door. Subsequently, we went to the sports bar looking for dinner. While not overly busy, we waited 40 minutes for service and, getting none,decided to try the buffet. By this time, it was around 8:00. We had to wait in line for a clean, setup table at the buffet. After getting our table, we went through the line for food, only to find someone had taken our table by the time we returned. We ended up at a dirty table and had to scrounge on our own to find silverware. No need to dress up or even clean up for dinner here; come as you are. On a better note, we had a really good meal at the Italian restaurant when we did get in. However, we were seated next to a table with 3 adults and 3 children under the age of 3. Although the children were really well behaved,due to their age and the lack of high chairs,they were out of their element. While everyone had a great time,our experience was more like being at a McDonalds Playland than fine dining. Again, we realize great latitude is warranted due to the newness of this facility; however, there are some inherent difficulties with the H10 set up that time and patience wont help." - Jane from Oshkosh, Wisconsin
