Dreams Los Cabos

Remarks:
"It all started even before we set our foot on the Mexican soil. We had picked this hotel from the database of our timeshare exchange company. The moment we had the exchange go through we were bombarded with the phone calls from the hotel stating that we MUST pay all-inclusive fee in front (even though it was February and our travel was scheduled for July) or they'll cancel the exchange. It took a lot of calling to the exchange companys reps and their calling to the hotel to make sure they live us alone. Then they've sent us a welcome letter stating that theyll help with the transportation, for the fee, of course. We, unfortunately, agreed. As we landed in Cabo we realized that we could grab a taxi for the half of that price, but it was too late and the money paid for the transportation was not refundable. In the hotel we were constantly bombarded by the reps from the time share sales office giving us a ton of lame reasons as to why we MUST attend the time share sales presentation. To make sure we can have a nice rest of vacation we agreed for the 90 minutes of that torture. 90minutes has become 2 hours, but who counts, right? and after that, since we did not want to buy anything theyve forgotten of all the perks theyve promised to us to attend the presentation. I really did not care much being happy that they left us alone, but my wife was pretty ticked off because of that, but of course, you could not find anyone anymore ALL OF THE SUDDEN, to find out what happened to all those promises. There was a humongous diesel truck doing something right on the beach all week. Listen, maybe the time to do things on the beach is in the off season??? There were 3 weddings in the hotel. 2 on the 3rd of July and one on the 4th. So, with all the brides, grooms, bridesmaids and best men all over the place the hotel looked like a Zoo. Beisdes the fact that most of them and their invited friends were so drunk that instances of people being completely out of comtrol were just as common as the birds and lizards trying to snatch things out of your plate. Staff did not pay much attention to all of that. One thing about the staff. On their website they say that ALL, I repeat, ALL of the staff members are bilingual. Yea, right. They may be bilingual, but the second language is not English, that's for sure. The entertainment group is a bunch of loooosers. They were so lame, people did not even want to bother to pay attention to them. Drinks in the bar were OK as long as you would tell the bartender exactly what you want, otherwise they'll poor some stuff that would most likely, be used in the engines as degreaser." - David from Los Angeles, California

"If you're a person that pays top dollar for your vacation experience and are not satisfied with anything less than Ritz-Carlton, then you would do better to pay top dollar and stay at a Ritz-Carlton. However if you're a person that recognizes an incredible value and are willing to pay a just a little more than a middle-of-the-road price, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how intimate, relaxing and gracious with the Dreams Los Cabos experience. From the generous rooms offering ocean views, to the variety of restaurants in this all-inclusive environment, Dream Los Cabos permits each guest to decide when and where they wish to eat. While many all-inclusive resorts limit the number of times per week one can dine at the gourmet restaurants, Dreams offers no restrictions. There are 5 restaurant options or room service to choose. I prefer the seafood offered at Oceana, and the simple grilled items at the Seaside Grill. For a special evening I have opted to pay for a romantic dinner under the stars with a personal waiter. Although not included, it certainly is a wonderful addition to a special celebration for a couple or table of friends, and in my opninion worth the price. In past years there seemed to be an issue with sufficient poolside chaise lounges. The staff have found a way to resolve this issue by adding a wider variety of beach/palapa/poolside lounging areas with something for everyone. If you want to be prompted to participate in the various activities throughout the day, simply lounge by the main pool or beachfront area. If youre looking for an afternoon siesta or quiet time, try the Lava pool (named for its gray-pebbeled finish) or a palapa on the sand. Evenings provide quiet or active diversions which include guided bar crawls through Cabo San Lucas, various themed evening dining/entertainment experiences, or perhaps a moonlight romantic massage for two. Dreams Los Cabos features a decent yet slightly overpriced day spa-but if youre on vacation and want to splurge try a treatment or two. And if all that overindulgence is a concern...then spend some time in the gym. Children under 8 will find plenty of fun at the well-staffed childrens activity camp. There are crafts, recreation, cultural and even an evening of camping under the stars for them. If your children are 8 or older, they may find Dreams a little boring (it may not be a great resort pick for you if you have older children that are looking for a day-filled with activities geared just for them). Howver there are plenty of family recreation/outting opportunities that can be planned through the activity desk that will appeal to everyone from the young to the young at heart.(I highly recommend an ATV outting through the dessert or a whale watching cruise). Ive been coming to Mexico and especially to Cabo for years, and have stayed at this resort t times. Each time is better than the time before. Again, this is not to say its on par with Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton...but then again, the Dreams doesn't charge 6 star rates. "The physical property is just georgeous. The beach is beautiful to look at it but you cannot swim in it because of the strong riptides. The pool area is very pretty . It is an infinity pool whichs overlooks the beach. We found that you had to get there early to get a lounge. And we were a bit turned off that they had workers in the pool cleaning it while we were swimming. Lots of bugs floating around in the waterand the public restrooms right off hte pool more often than not smelled just awful. There was alot of construction going on all day. We were dissapointed in the restaurants. The rooms are showing signs of wear and tear. Ripped fabric on the furniture. Just a little shabby loooking. If you travel as an all-inclusive, be prepared to tip for everything. Be careful about ordering wine. Some are not part of the all-inclusive and you are not always told. For the most part we were disappointing in the staff. The restaurant staff was generally very accomodating. That kind of says it all.
