Here's our Desert Sun Resort Review

Desert Shadows Resort has been renamed Desert Sun Resort. This Palm Springs Clothing Optional resort has changed hands once again. Twice in the last two years. The new owners promise to bring back the friendly, family nudist atmosphere that made Desert Shadows so well liked. Now named Desert Sun Resort, the complex offers meticulously landscaped grounds with flowing streams, pools and waterfalls.

The resort began almost 15 years ago as an 11-room B & B. Desert Sun is now a 92 room Palm Springs clothing optional resort. The original building now called the Courtyard Rooms, are in the original B & B facility. The newer Chaparral Rooms are in the 2-story motel style building adjacent to the main pool. The One-Bedroom Villas are the new condo units and are fabulous. Desert Sun Resort offers 2 pools and spas, a nice restaurant, lounge and spectacular views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Also, a new state of the art Spa for massages and treatments and also a small gym

The really neat thing about Desert Sun is that you are in a clothing optional resort is right in the heart of Palm Springs. It is less than a mile from downtown. Desert Sun blends the best of both worlds. The atmosphere and people make you feel totally comfortable in the nude behind the walls of the resort. Yet, you can put your clothes back on and walk across the street to fine restaurants and shops.

Desert Sun Resort has world's only Nude Bridge. The 140 foot pedestrian over-crossing allows guests to walk across Indian Canyon Drive in the nude. This street is one of the busiest boulevards in Palm Springs. The side walls provide just enough cover. We told you the resort is right in town! Desert Sun Resort's Mediterranean style and deluxe accommodations will continue to make this the premier clothing optional Palm Springs resort.

Palm Springs boasts an average 87 degree temperature with 344 humidity-free sunny days per year.

"The last time I was at the Desert Sun was in October, 2008. Since the new owners took over it just keeps getting better. When you visit the resort you can see all the remodeling that has and is being done. Even as they remodel, the place is wonderful and they keep the remodeling contained so not to bother the guests any more then they have to, which didn't bother me at all. Mike, the manager is a very friendly nice guy that makes everyone feel comfortable. The people at the front desk are the same, always ready to assist you with anything you need. Harvey, the manager of the restaurant is great, alway watching over every table to be sure you are satisfied and the food is terrific. They also have a fitness center that will give you a nice workout, its not a World Gym, but it gives you a great workout. They also have a tennis court. Have you ever played tennis in the nude? This resort is like none other that I have visited in the United States. This is a real paradise that you feel the moment you enter the grounds. I cant say enough good about the Desert Sun. If you are ready for a day, week or month in paradise visit the Desert Sun in sunny Palm Springs California. Thanks for reading my review, Jerome." - Jerome from Kansas

"We stayed at the Desert Shadows Resort and really felt comfortable. The other guests were friendly and the resort staff was very nice too. We stayed in the two-story Chapparal rooms. The pool was right outside the room. Nice. We enjoyed sunbathing on the lawn area adjacent to the pool. The resort is minutes from downtown Palm Springs. We also enjoyed some really fine meals in Palm Springs. If you are considering a clothing optional vacation, we recommend Desert Sun Resort Palm Springs." - Richard & Janice from California
