Things To Do In Cancun | Cancun Beaches

There are lot's of fun things to do in Cancun.

Here are a few of the interesting Cancun activities.

Popular Cancun Beaches:

Playa Tortugas, Cancun
Playa Tortugas beach is lined with open-air cafes, restaurants and bars. It is a great beach to see and be seen and enjoy a day.

Playa Las Perlas, Cancun
Playa Las Perlas is real nice beach with some of the safest waters in the area for swimming.

Playa Marlin, Cancun
Marlin Beach is a very picturesque, smooth stretch of white sand beach with a rugged surf. Not the best swimming beach, but makes up for it with beautiful natural scenery.

Playa San Miguelito, Cancun
One the most popular of all Cancun beaches. Right in the heart of the hotel zone. You can also visit ruins at a small archaeological site called San Miguelito.

Playa Las Ballenas, Cancun
North of Punta Nizuc, This beautiful beach has some of most beatiful views in Cancun. Lot's of watersports available to rent and play.

Wet 'n Wild - Water Park Cancun
Cool off after a hot day of touring at this family-oriented water park.
Attraction type: Amusement/theme park

Xcaret - Natural Swimming Fun Park Cancun
A Mayan-themed ecological park. Explore the Cancun reefs and underground rivers that are Xcaret. This ancient swimming site offers diving and snorkeling tours to the second largest barrier reef in the world. This provides some of the best snorkeling in the western hemisphere. If you snorkel or scuba dive, Xcaret is a must see. Check out their web site: Xcaret

Popular Cancun Nightclubs:

Coco Bongo, Cancun
The Coco Bongo is the hotspot for Cancun's often rowdy nightlife. Usually packed with crowds of half-naked, thoroughly inebriated college kids, dancing the night away.

My Place (formerly Club Over 30) - Cancun
Located in front of the Hyatt Cancun Caribe - My Place has great food, good music and just a lot of fun! A comfortable air-conditioned facility.

Senor Frog's, Cancun
Senior Frog's is world famous or infamous, and once you visit it you'll understand why. The original party place in Cancun, Senior Frog's has conga lines of whistle girls, a plastic tube that slides inebriated beautiful people into a lagoon and beer served in yard-long servers. Senior Frog's is as crazy as it gets in Cancun.

Carlos' n Charlie's, Cancun
Located in the heart of the hotel zone, this restaurant and bar is a very popular among locals and tourists alike. Decent food and nightly entertainment is a great upbeat atmosphere.

Cancun Activities:

Cancun Horseback riding at Rancho Loma Bonita
This is a real fun Cancun activity for the adventurous. Your choose either a 2-hour horseback ride through the jungle and beach or 2-hour ATV's on the beach. If you decide to opt for the horseback riding, there are over 150 horses to choose from! If you choose to ride the ATV Quads, you will have a blast riding the course through the exotic jungle and along the Caribbean's sea beaches. Located at km 45 on the Cancun-Tulum highway.

An ancient Mayan city located 80 miles south of Cancun. It was one of the region s main Mayan cities and was built by a cliff overlooking the sea. It is surrounded by a wall on three of its sides. It has five entryways, two watchtowers, a castle, two temples and the great house of the ruler.

Chichen Itza
Located 125 miles from Cancun on Highway 180 in the northern area of the Yucatan Peninsula. Chichen Itza was the capital of the Mayan civilization from 750-1200 AD. You will see the famous and much photographed Pyramid of Kukulkan and a ball court, la Plaza de Mil Columnas or in English the Plaza of a Thousand Columns. Also see el Cenote Sagrado or the Sacred Sinkhole, and sacred temples.

Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres is a island that is a 20-minute ferry ride from Cancun. Isla Mujeres seems a like is was preserved in a time warp and in stark contrast with high energy Cancun. The brick streets in Isla bring you back in time. Many of the original Caribbean-style clapboard houses still remain in their bright, island colors.

The snorkeling is excellent on Isla Mujeres. Garrafon National Park or the Manchones Reef are both good spots for snorkeling. Manchones is just off shore and can be reached by boat. Another good snorkeling spot is Bahia Mujeres, near the lighthouse at the southern tip of the island.
