"We just got back from Barcelo from our honeymoon and I could not have asked for more. This place was paradise! The staff was so friendly and treated my husband and I like royalty. I will never ever forget how beautiful and how well taken care of Barcelo Tropical Resort is. It seemed like every time I turned around they were always cleaning. The food was absolutely fantastic. My husband and I promised each other that if not every summer we will go out every other summer to Barcelo. Barcelo is paradise and it was the best vacation I have ever had. Thank you so much for making our honeymoon something we will never forget!" - Tracie from Arvada, Colorado

"This place was paradise. I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful and wonderful the whole place is. The entire staff is extremely helpful and friendly and ALWAYS willing to satisfy you. It is hte perfect place for anyone whether you are young or old, single, just married, or just want to go for fun. The beach is white with clear crisp blue water, and the pool is big and fun with gorgeous waterfalls and designs. During the day they have many fun activities for people of literally all ages such as water aerobics which is very fun, and water bingo and tons of other stuff. They have bars everywhere where anyone can get a drink becuase they make them at hte moment so even minors can ask for Pina Coladas or Daiquiris but obviously without alcohol and they still taste delicoius. All the food and buffets are excellent. They also have different broadway/las vegas shows every night. Even Kareoke! Which is very fun. This place is wonderful and the staff always makes you feel like family. Again, this place was paradise and although my vacation was for a week, it passed like a day. I cant wait to go again. This place is truly paradise and you will NOT regret going!" - Ann from San Antonio, Texas

"The resort grounds and pools were clean, well kept and absolutely gorgeous. The food at the buffets were pretty good and our favorite specialty restaurants at the resort were the Japanese, Italian and Steakhouse...many friends in our group didnt care for the Seafood restaurant. Service was better at the specialty restaurants than at the buffets. You will need to make your reservations at the specialty restaurants as soon as you arrive as they book up quickly. The beach had plenty of lounge chairs for everyone and gorgeous palm trees right on the beach. You had shade from the trees if you wanted it. The beach was a little rocky in the water in some areas. I would recommend water shoes. We had a Junior Suite in the Yucatan building. The Tropical Beach theater is quite close to that building and the show starts rather late so if you've chosen to go to bed rather than see the show, I would bring ear plugs as the music kept us up. Bring an insulated mug as the glasses that they serve drinks in are kind of small. The wait can be pretty long at the pool bars so youll be glad to get as much to drink in your thermal mug as possible. I would also recommend going to a dollar store and buying your inflatable rafts for the pool before the trip. They are pricey at the resort. We had a great time at this resort and was impressed by the beauty of it.!" - Katherine from St. Louis, Missouri

"This a perfect place for a family vacation. Our group consisted of our three teenagers, my husband and I, and my eighty year old mother. We divided our time equally between staying at the hotel (where their was always something for anyone to do or eat) and excursions to Xcaret, Playa del Carmen and Chichen Itza. For the trip to Chichen Itza we able hire a private van and guide with the help of the travel consultants that have stations at the hotel. The trip was arranged to get us to the ruins early in the coolness of the morning and before the crowds. Then afterwards, we had lunch at a nice restaurant at a nearby cenote where we also got to swim to our hearts delight. Wonderful Day! Delightful and relaxing trip! Please note that this is a HUGE property with all the four Barcelo hotels combined. So if anyone has mobility problems or is expecting a quaint and cozy hotel they will be unhappy." - Peggy from Los Gatos, Calif
